RINOs couldn't stand backing their party on a matter of importance. If the party had its cojones it ought to return the favor in kind by withdrawing its financial backing for RINOs re-election bids and sanctioning favored home-state projects. You desert the party, don't expect rewards for betraying it.

I hope all 7 go-down-in-flames. No support...no money...NO VOTES!

The seven Republican signers were Sens. Mike DeWine of Ohio, Susan Collins of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Lincoln Chaffee of Rhode Island, John McCain of Arizona, John W. Warner of Virginia and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine

Boy howdy....several of those names tell it all. I would not even need to know the legislation to know it's probably not good.

That's what everyone wanted to do to Specter but Santorum talked them into letting him slide. Now we are stuck with the both of them. At least until the next election.

The Senate stinks.

It will be interesting to watch them filibuster Bush's Supreme Court nominees.
Republican's will gain seats in the Senate and the money will flow into GOP election coffers to break the power of moderates.

And seven Republicans will get abandoned by the base....

NOT ONE PENNY!!!

I'm angry enough to pledge money to real conservatives who will run against these RINO's and replace them. How about $100.00 a head?

I encourage everyone to attack!

***....."Judges are going to get a vote that wouldn't have gotten a vote otherwise. We're going to start talking about who would be a good judge and who wouldn't. And the White House is going to get more involved and they are going to listen to us more," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., one of the bargainers....***

We got seven back stabbers in our own party, that are against every one of them getting a vote. How disgusting!

It's like the democrats, "we only count the votes we want." Or do they believe that they know better than all the Senators. These traitors can NOT be tolerated!!!!

***.....In classic Senate style, the agreement was followed by a rush of self-congratulatory speeches - and disagreement over what it meant.

Democrats, pointing to a slight change in wording from an earlier draft, said the deal would preclude Republicans from attempting to deny them the right to filibuster. Republicans said that was not ironclad, but valid only as long as Democrats did not go back on their word to filibuster only in extraordinary circumstances.

One official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the issue had been discussed at the meeting in McCain's office, and was "clearly understood" by those in attendance.....***

You must not have heard the anger and the depression last night.

Nobody's giving the republicans JACK.

They can't manage what they've gotten already.

Like a Cheshire Cat. Then again, what can you expect from squishy moderates? A squishy agreement non-agreement that settles nothing. I'd be surprised if the "deal" lasts beyond the nominees coming up for a vote. We will know then if its a surrender to the Democrats. If that's the case, the GOP can kiss its Senate majority good-bye in '06. We need friends like these like we need enemies...

Write off Rhode Island and Maine. No Non-RINO could get elected there. Money on their opponents would be wasted. Just shut them out of all meetings and committees so they will join the Democratic Party where they belong and stop SPYING on us.

And don't forget the CRYPTO-Democrat-Mole-Spies, like Spectre, who didn't sign but is right there in spirit.

Let's throw them all out of the party right now so that winning back the Senate will be an issue in 2006!

Why not just send your money to Howard Dean?

Politics needs strategy, not tragedy.

You don't give moderates more power, you take them out!

Yep. They have 55 seats and they couldn't even do the principled thing. The Senate Republicans pine to be back in the minority. By all means then, let's grant them their wish next year...

Because sending money to Howard Dean accelerates the *exact* same process by 4%, as when I send it to Republicans.

I agree with you about Spectre and I look forward to voting against that piece of trash. And unless I can move back down south soon, I WILL do it.

Exactly! Moderates were going to lose their vaunted position without something and now, from McCain's office on the mount, they've offered up, what? Nothing. They're already fighting over what it means.
