Rats Claim Two More Nominees to be Torpedoed in Filibuster Deal
Monday, May 23, 2005 | Kristinn

In Tuesday's edition of The New York Times, unnamed Democrats claim that two more of President Bush's nominees will be torpedoed as part of an unwritten codicile to the announced bipartisan agreement by 14 senators on filibustered judicial nominees.

The written agreement singled out the nominations of Myers and Saad as not being guaranteed an up or down vote on the Senate floor.

From The New York Times comes this signal of further betrayal: "Democratic officials said an unwritten aspect of the pact is that two nominees not named in the deal - Brett Kavanaugh and William J. Haynes - would not be confirmed and would be turned aside either at the committee level or on the floor."

If this deal does through, then I will vote Democrat in 2006.

A truly ignorant move. That'll show 'em, won't it?

I have already contacted the RNC, I want my money back!

Can a class action suit be filed against the the RNC? This is mail fraud.

Yes, these "maverick" Senators have made themselves into "super executives" with this action. Had to show that outside boy how things really work in the big city.

...their fun little club is nothing but a ripoff of the people that elected them.

IIRC the Senate was devised so that the differently populated states of the US would have an equal voice with respect to legislation.

Do you ever consider that people that recommend recess appointments are aware they are not lifetime appointments, or do you insult for the hell of it?

These Justices (Saad and Myers among them) are not going to be confirmed in this traitorous package. better he appoint them to the Court and send a message back in their eye, then allow these 14 to defeat them on the floor after slandering their reputations for years.

Perhaps then in '06 he'll have the votes he needs to confirm them to lifetime appointments, meanwhile they sit on the court establishing their credentials against charges of corruption or extremism.

It is the seven RINO senators who need to be flushed down the toilet like turds.
I pray to God that there are strong primary challengers against every last one of those scumbags, and I hope that the challengers trumpet their incumbent opponents' treason in TV ad after TV ad after TV ad....

The number will definitely go up. And what the Democrats consider extreme circumstances will be any nominee who is a minority and conservative.

Ok Einstein, let's hear YOUR solution?

Oh yes, we're just hanging on the edge of our seats on this one...

It will be like Chamberlain coming back from Munich and then being surprised when Hitler didn't keep his word. Appeasement never works.

I'm not going to vote Democrat in 2006.

That's my solution.

"We're going to start talking about who would be a good judge and who wouldn't," said negotiator Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.). "And the White House is going to get more involved and they are going to listen to us more."

IF they cave, then maybe the nation needs to bottom out like it did during the first 2 Clinton years and rebound afterwards.

Clean out the RINO's like yesterday's straw in the stables...

unnamed Democrats

I would imagine that there are some Democrats who want to torpedo this deal, the NYT probably doesn't like it either.

Answer this-- why would any moderate Democrat want to so quickly try to blow up this agreement by leaking side deals etc?? I don't know the answer but it is suspicious to me. You would think at least a few days would go by, why so fast to act in such bad faith?

It is a threat, imo.

And how tyrannical is it that 14 guys are running the Senate all by their lonesome. Must make the other 86 feel mighty left out.
