Students of Tehran University are protesting against the ban on candidates of the upcoming presidential election.

They are chanting: Death To Dictator, Death To Oppression.

sounds about typical to me. The Persian Americans I've met are hard working, industrious and highly family orientated.

I wish these Iranian students all the luck in the world. No point in wishing them courage - they already have it.

No tyranny can forever keep such brave people down.

Were there any chants or signs that thanked Jimmy Carter for the current situation? I've read that he was a great peacemaker and a wonderful man. He won a Nobel Peace Prize, you know.

Condi spoke to this somewhat today - indicating that the people of the US are here for them.....

I wonder if that means we are working behind the scenes recruiting a "resistance" there.... somewhat like we did in Afghanistan???

Students have announced that a further protest will be held at 09:00 a.m. local Tehran time tomorrow in Sharif University.

We need FREEDOM.

It doesnt matter how many we are or if it has any big impact on this mad regime or not. What we need to show is that we seek moral support for free people like you to gain our freedom.

A nationalist? Somewhat. I agree with the actions we took in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., since, realistically, they were the best options on the table. It just would have been simpler if we'd have been smart, left the idiots alone in the first place. They'd still be fighting with swords.

But, water under the bridge. With the world as it is today, we are required to intervene in various places, unfortunately.

I wish those students luck. They're going to need every last ounce they can get.
