Broken back syndrome
The Washington Times ^ | 5-23-05 | Arnaud de Borchgrave

Posted on 05/23/2005 12:07:50 PM PDT by JZelle

Al Qaeda has been dealt yet another "broken back," this time by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. President Bush delivered the first in a series of "broken backs" when he said three-quarters of al Qaeda's leadership had been killed or captured. Mr. Musharraf, in describing the helpless terrorist giant with a broken back, said: "Whatever they are now capable of doing is individual and group actions divorced from central command ... they are on the run in the mountains, not in contact with each other."

Al Queda would be destroyed if not for the traitorous US democrat party and their media deceivers.

Yes, we're winning--three cheers for our valiant soldiers, President Bush, and the brave Iraqis and Afghans whose desire for liberty makes them willing to face danger every day.

Wouldn't it be nice if the democrats were constantly pushing Bush to be MORE aggressive and to wipe out the remaining terror supporting states? Ah, what a fantasy.

"Bin Laden...enjoys the popularity of a folk hero in Pakistan, whose back cannot be broken."

I think I'll consult Indra Nooyi for the appropriate digital response to this nonsense.

Until we start leveling mosques used as hideouts & weapons depots, we're really not serious about pulling out the weeds of terrorism out by the roots.

You have the modern 'rats confused with human beings.

That would have been the ethical democrats of the Cold War. Their patriotic behavior did not go unnoticed by an electorate, which put them in near absolute power for 50 years.

Please. LBJ was a horrible Socialist whose 'Great Society' failures we're still dealing with today. LBJ was no more a patriot than Saddam Hussein. His failure to wage total war in Vietnam led to the deaths of thousands of American troops.

You're quite correct, and although LBJ tried to fight like a hawk because he got us deeply into Vietnam, that war was totally mismanaged. The reason, I think, is because LBJ was surrounded by incompetent pretend "hawks" like Mcnamara who revealed their true colors as leftie pacifists as soon as they got out of office. As frightening as a dem administration is IN office they become downright traitors when they get out (Carter, Ramsey Clarke, Albright, et al).

I'm in agreement with your analysis of LBJ. I'm talking about a generation earlier of patriotic democrats, the Harry Truman democrats.
