Newsweek has stepped in it again. Look what they publish in their overseas editions.
Translation:
The red text at the left just above the Newsweek logo says:
America forsaken.
The big white and yellow text says:
The Day America Died The ideal of freedom falls to the ground due to Bush continuing in office.

Why any red-blooded American would support this magazine is beyond me.

Yes, but this cover was from Feb. 2. Why the big blowup now? Did none of our Japanese-based FReepers notice it back in February?
To: jslade
Newsweek is the one that is going to die.

They cater to the audience in those countries, and in ours they try to shape the audience. They are a real curiosity. So many see them as the ascendant 60's protesters finally in authority.
Perhaps it's better to recognize that old-style liberalism has been co-opted by a political philosophy that by definition is required to be anti-American, and that because America is a capitalist society.

You asked,
"Why the big blowup now" Well, rabid, it seems to expose a pattern. NEWSWEEK Managing Editor says "Newsweek does not have a liberal agenda". I'd say, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Yes, but this cover was from Feb. 2. Why the big blowup now? Why not? We have them on the ropes, let's plunge in the knives while they're staggering :) |

Based on this Newsweek cover alone - forgetting the Quran in the toilet issue - we need to start a national boycott of Newsweek. No readers = no advertizers. Send copies of this story to every person and every publication that you know.
