Poor Horowitz. I'm sure someone will protect him.
Or maybe he is already safe - it makes complete sense that criminals obey gun laws and would never think of getting a weapon through illegal channels, noooo. Man, must be nice living somewhere other than reality.

"Protecting vigilantes from criminal prosecution and urging citizens to stockpile weapons for a showdown with the government are more than just threats to public safety -- they are threats to our democracy and our way of life." - Josh HorowitzAs usual, the Libs have it all wrong.

This warped conception of popular sovereignty is at the root of the most egregious anti- democratic proposition advanced by the gun lobby: that citizens need to arm themselves to safeguard political liberties against threats by the government. Good thing he was not around during the American revolution.

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush signed a bill that allows people to use deadly force -- including guns -- when faced with a violent threat, even when a confrontation could be avoided by simply walking away. The new law goes far beyond self-defense, which was already a well-established right in Florida, to invite vigilantes to substitute their judgment for the judicial system. Not only is this a mischaracterization of the law, but the fact is that it did virtually nothing to change the law in Florida. The courts had already ruled that people have this right in Florida.

"If they believe in the right to take up arms to resist government policies they consider oppressive, even when these policies have been adopted by elected officials and subjected to review by an independent judiciary, then they are opposed to constitutional democracy."We've got an independent judiciary? Since when? I thought it was owned outright by the DNC.

Totally stupid. This guy probably thinks that registering sex offenders is also a solution. These people are nuts.
To: 2nd_Amendment_Defender
If you fear being on a registration list, then join the National Rifle Association with a new chosen alias. You're kidding, right? This is a defeatist attitude. Join the NRA or GOA (Gun Owners Of America) or any of the other forceful groups and do so without fear or intimidation. I'm an NRA member and proud of it. And I may just join GOA. Using my real name, no less.

I work with exactly the same kind of liberal as you do. She is the most hateful and unhappy person I know of.
To: Brad's Gramma
Every Freeper should join the National Rifle Association. Like one Freeper said whether they own a gun or not. If you're already a member, please put the initials in your tagline. Thanks.

As a guest from one of the Leftist enclaves of the West Coast recently remarked when my wife mentioned our guns, our ability to use them, and our intention to do so as necessary for protection from violent criminals:
"I think we should rely on the police..."
As my wife replied:
"And if it takes the police a hour and a half to get here...? I don't think so."

Roscoe Pound, a somewhat famed jurist of the
20s and 30s. (A time when socialism was shall we
say, "untarnished".)
"He was perhaps the chief U.S. advocate of sociological jurisprudence, which holds that statutes and court decisions are affected by social conditions; his ideas apparently influenced the New Deal programs of Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt. "

So it shouldn't come as any surprise that the
socialists of today would hold him up as an
example.
