Rush Limbaugh sounds off on controversy as many urge boycotts, firing of president
An apology by PepsiCo's president who likened the United States to a middle finger is apparently doing little to calm outrage caused by her remarks.
In the wake of WorldNetDaily's coverage of Indra Nooyi's commencement speech to graduates at Columbia Business School in which she compared the U.S. to the middle finger with both positive and negative connotations, consumers are vowing to boycott the company, and the topic is being widely discussed on talk radio.

Critique? Certainly. Fly off the handle? Go ahead, but please keep it to yourself. Most of the rest of us aren't interested.
Maybe I just don't have enough Machiavellian in me, but I can't see what good using the tactics of the left does us. There were plenty of commencement addresses this spring, including the one I attended at Meredith College last weekend, that were far more egregious than this one. Let's not waste our time on something this silly.
Hmmm, what am I going to do? I eat Quaker Oats for health reasons and the generic brand oats is just awful.
Scuse me, if you're not interested, why are you on this thread?
I'm not calling for her head or even a pepsi boycott, but her commencement address & her views seem ironic to me since pepsi is the drink offered at the BX food court.
Thanks for the tip, I'll try Sam's diet cola.
I guess I'm just here to express my amazement at how the herd mentality crosses all ideological lines. Maybe just one lemming will look up and say, "Hey! He's right. What am I doing?" Just that possibility makes each of my posts worthwhile.
Still like Pepsi?
If it ain't Coke in this house, it's RC Cola.
Period.
Hear Hear!
I don't know...
I can give up Pepsi because I never drink it anyway, but Mountain Dew?
Mountain Dew is the nectar of the gods for people who hate coffee.
Personally, RC Cola is the BEST!
Are they not made be Quaker?
Boycott ping
Humm I don't know. Looking on the bag or box might tell. Some private brands, like Aldi, seem to have a policy of multisourcing any given storebrand item. If there was a patent on the Cap'n Crunch production process, it lapsed long ago.
Gatorade's patent has lapsed, and there are many Gatorade clones now. Not in a bazillion flavors like Gatorade, but decent.
My email to mailto:BoardofDirectors@Pepsi.com
"Let me make this clear and succinct.
Your CEO had the ability to review and edit her anti-American views before she spoke. This was not someone who gave a clumsy answer to an unanticipated question. This was a predetermined disparagement on the USA (as well as a racial disparagement of all non-Asian countries).
Her self-serving apology is irrelevent. She knew what she meant before she said it. She is only apologizing now because she got in trouble for it.
It is clear Pepsi does not share American value. Fine. Neither I nor any of my family members nor anyone else I can talk to will be purchasing Pepsi Cola products until Ms. Nooyi is removed (WITHOUT separation pay) and a REAL apology by Pepsi and her replacement is forthcoming."
JR:
Can we gat a call to arms on the home page? This is as bad as the Reagan hit piece, Garafolo's TV show or Whoopi (all wins by FR).
We defeated them then and I think we can get this America-hater out of Pepsi and remind them who buys their products.
Believe me, I hate Diet Coke. It's a little like drinking battery acid.
But not ONE drop of Diet Pepsi will pass my lips until Indra's gone.
Yeah! Let's "Git 'er gone!"
We rock.
We probably have had more influence than MoveOn.org, the DNC and of course the 600 or so non-FReeper Trolls on DU (it has taken them over a week to get a measly 800 donations -- FReepathons do that in a day).
Be sure your bosses know that the grunts are grunting about this, at least in non-LaLa Land.
