"Strange that not more women hate men" (Swedish government cooperating with militant feminists)
Aftonbladet ^ | May 21, 2005 | Petter Sunsted

Posted on 05/21/2005 12:11:00 AM PDT by Eurotwit

These controversial words were written by former minister for equality in a coloumn in the feminist magazine WomenPressure (Kvinnotryck). "I suppose it can be provoking, particular if you are a man", she states.

Margareta Winberg: I am no man hater

The government has a close cooperation with extreme feminists who consider that "men are animals"

This is revealed in Swedish Televisions documentary, "Sex War".

The documentary which is being aired this Sunday shows a strong connection between the governments sex equality policies and the national feminist organisation, Roks.

In Roks' magazine WomenPressure, the former equality minister Margareta Winberg writes in a coloumn:

- Sometimes I am baffled that not more women really hate men.

What do you mean by that?

- When you look around the world to see how women are treated, you can start wondering why women still have patience with men, says Margareta Winberg.

Militant feminism

How do you think such a statement will be received?

- Yes, it can be provoking, particularly for men. I pursue this thought in my coloumn. But, I do not belong in the groups who are manhaters. I just want to emphasize that.

Who would you say belong to that group?

- You should not ask me that. I do not belong to such a group, and I know noone who hates men.

Roks, however, is an organisation that praises militant feminism according to the documentary. Through proffessional lobbying activities in parliament they with the help of Margareta Winberg managed to transform the extreme feminisms' ideas into reality.

- That fraction within Roks who are radical, and which by some are considered to be extreme, is not part of government policy, says Margareta Winberg.

Roks last year, received 11.7 million kroner in government support, and organises two/thirds of the womens organisations in Sweden.

"Men are animals"

In 2006 the womens organisations are going to share 100 million kroner according to an agreement between the social democrat government, the Green party and the left party.

In Roks magazine, the extreme feminists Valeria Solana is hailed in a recent review.

She writes in her manifesto: "To call a man an animal is to flatter him: He is a machine, a walking dildo, a biological mishap."

In the documentary, the chairman (chairwoman, I guess I should say before I get sued: translator note) Irene von Wachenfelt is asked whether she agrees with Solana.

- Yes, men are animals. Don't you agree? says Ireen von Wachenfeldt to the reporter.

When Aftonbladet asks von Wachenfeldt what she means by that, she answers:

- I personally don't considers men animals, but according to Solana I can understand why many women feel that way

Men who complain about this are roasted even on conservative news forums

True. You don't even have to look further than this very thread.

100 million kroner for the lesbians?

What is the Minister of Equality's appropriation for the heterosexuals?

...national feminist organisation, Roks...

Whoever came up with that name for the organization must have worked at Ford when they came up with a name for a car they wanted to market to women - The Probe.

Schopenhauer had plenty of time to write nasty things about women, since he couldn't get anyone to marry him (never even had a date, poor thing). Or maybe he never had a date because he wrote nasty things about women? That's a question for another, less lonely, less gloomy philosopher. I bet there's one here.

Nothing but ad hominem attacks. How pathetic.

These girls vs. boys threads never come to any good.

Then why are you taking part in one?

You're a friend of Schopenhauer? I hear he had a poodle named "Mommy."

When you look around the world to see how women are treated, you can start wondering why women still have patience with men, says Margareta Winberg.

If she's talking about the cultures that begin by thinking that taking care of the womenfolk begins by keeping them out of sight & controlled, I can't say I disagree with her. If she's talking about men in general, she's off the mark.

She writes in her manifesto: "To call a man an animal is to flatter him: He is a machine, a walking dildo, a biological mishap."

She is a bigot & anyone who takes her seriously is either a fool or bigot too.

- Yes, men are animals. Don't you agree? says Ireen von Wachenfeldt to the reporter.

Bigot too.

It's kind of sad to see Sweden go over the cliff, but it will perhaps play a good part in dispelling the false religion of progressive politics.

Don't count on it. From my observation, "progressives" always seem to think that failure derives from having spent an insufficient amount of money pushing for more of their brand of stupidity. They are incapable of second guessing their original premise.

Many thanks for the translation.

We're all animals, dear, men and women alike. Some of us deal with it better than others, that's all.

I always thought the Scandinavian and Nordic nations are pretty much the same.

That's like thinking that Kiwi's are pretty much the same as Aussies or that Canadians are the same as Americans.

So how different is each nation in terms of leftist dagma in politics?

Sweden is socialist & proud of it. New Zealand has a long way to go if that's where they think they wanna go.

For much of our history, it was unseemly to educate women. Someone had to stay home to hold down the fort & raise babies. Biological reality is gonna tell you that if there hadn't been a woman in beginning of the life of any great man, he would not have contributed anything.

Leonardo daVinci's mother, etc...

No, I'm not saying that Mom can take credit for what her child does. Anyone trying to stake some kind of claim for same, just because they share the same gender seems a bit odd to me.

Fight fire with fire :)

If you do not believe it, is it productive to spread it? Is it a good way to counter anything previously stated?

If you do believe it, you're no less of a bigot than the woman interviewed.

An ad hominem attack against an author is a poor argument to counter his bigotry.

No. They do. Men are asking for help against the feminist goliath and women like you can help by not buying into the women as victim stories anymore.

I personally was charged with sexual harassment by a woman who came and went as she pleased in the office, because I mentioned it to the boss. She said, "I'm going to get you and it's going to be bad." I was cleared at the earliest level of investigation after being put through a living hell. Most men won't talk about it, because like rape, the first question people ask is: "What did you do to bring it on?" Men are only brutes and sex-fiends you know.

Men now have horror stories of our own to tell. And that's where the anger of these threads come from. No one likes to be a second class citizen. Get past the surface anger and help us.

What deeply affronts me is the silence of womankind while this goes on in their name.

We don't identify with them and are as much under attack by them as men are, if not more.

But I have to wonder what the effect is on little kids, and boys in particular, of seeing this stuff presented affirmatively in the media. It must look to them like something that adult society approves of, because otherwise why is it all over the television, in the movies, on the radio, and everywhere else?

I would hope that children have real people in their lives, living counter to the garbage spewed out by the media.

Men who complain about this are roasted even on conservative news forums.

Complain about what? Feminism? I'll join you, rather than roast you for that. The condition of our mass media? Again, I'm right there with you. Giving paybacks, seeing feminist spew as an opportunity to bash women, put them in their place or to tell any woman that disagrees with you about something that she's a feminist, that would be seen by me as cause to put you on the spit.

It will only be when women Get Loud about saying "not in our name" that it will stop.

NOT IN MY NAME! Meanwhile, I have a whole pile of things I think are more important to address than shooting down some fool women that get better access to the press than I could ever dream of getting.

WHAT IS FRIGGIN' WRONG WITH THE DIFFERENCES?

Nothing at all, of course. For insecure souls such as this one "different" MUST mean that one is superior and one, inferior. Sometimes the ones who promote diversity are the ones who can least deal with the real thing.
