Poll: Most Want Assertive Senate on Judges
AP - 2 hours, 30 minutes ago WASHINGTON - More than three-quarters of Americans say the Senate should aggressively examine federal judicial nominees and not just approve them because they are the president's choices. That's one of the few aspects of this divisive issue that gets widespread agreement, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll released Friday. Respondents favored conservative over liberal judges in general, 47 percent to 39 percent.
It's actually great news!
I'm guessing more than three-quarters of Americans have never heard of Bill Frist, Harry Reid, or the ongoing battle over the "nuclear option."
What percentage wanted judges that based their decisions on the actual law?
Since you apparently forgot the link when you posted this, could you please supply one? Thanks.
Sounds like the AP stood up a strawmen argument then let folks knock it down. I bet most of the people polled don't realize that the current dispute has nothing to do with "aggressive questioning" or rubber stamping of nominees.
What percentage wanted judges that based their decisions on the actual United States law?
