BEATEN KID TO FACE BEAST OF BELLEVUE
The NY Post ^

Posted on 05/19/2005 4:38:03 PM PDT by frogjerk

May 19, 2005 -- In a shocking and vile attack last year, a prowling pedophile plucked a sick 13-year-old girl from her Bellevue Hospital bed. He dragged the girl into an empty conference room, tore off her blue pediatric gown, and then beat, choked and violated her — leaving her bloodied and unconscious...

I've spent way more than my share of time in various hospitals, all over the US. So have my kids, my parents, my in-laws. None of us have never received anything but gentle, loving, competent care. Are you seriously suggesting that the average person is in danger of getting raped because s/he spends a night in the hospital?

Violent crimes against children are skyrocketing. The incessant appearnce of children as sexual prey in pornography and in many mainstream images has a lot to do with it.

Advertising works. That's why Busch pays millions to get their beer ads on t.v. Get it?

"The incessant appearnce"

Uh..appearance? This has been going on for hundreds of years. You just didn't know about it and it wasn't thrown in everyone's face every day.

Big city public hospitals are pretty dangerous. You're more likely to suffer serious harm there through staff incompetence than crime. But there are plenty of vicious criminals in those places, since it's where all the gang-bangers get taken to get patched up at taxpayer expense. And with all the gang-bangers' friends coming to visit them, nobody would bat an eyelash at a thuggish looking person strolling the hallways and stepping into rooms.

I'm sure this had nothing to do with pornography...

Pornography has existed since humanity has been able to graphically represent ideas, concepts and objects, i.e draw and write.

Blaming pornography for rape is like blaming weapons for wars.

I am not so sure.

Much of what was considered "pornographic" in previous times would be considered tame, even mainstream by today's standards. I certainly do not remember hearing about child pornography before the 1980s.

The presentation of pronography has changed also. Whereas previous pornographers made do with drawings, today's pornographers have a wide range of media available to them, including photographs, video, and computer animation.

Because of the Internet and cable TV, the delivery of pronography has become quick and easy. In the past, you had to go out of his way to find the stuff; now it seeks you out.

Societal and legal standards have slipped. Our society now tolerates all sorts if bad behavior that would have been met with severe disapproval, even prosecution, in the past. Hence, groups like NAMBLA exist and flourish.

It may be too simplistic to say that pornography caused this crime. (After all, as someone else has pointed out, not every reader of pornography becomes a rapist.) But porn may have played a part in feeding the fantasies of a man who was disposed to commit crime.

I agree, we are far too tolerant of crime. And as I said on another post, if the DOJ had been prosecuting NAMBLA back in 1979-80 when they became well known, they wouldn't exist today.

"This is the reason why New York needs the death penalty."

They've got the death penalty, they just won't use it.

Yea, he probably eats, craps, and sleeps too. Lots of people look at porn, that doesn't mean they're pedophiles.

Lot's of people drink alcohol. Are you claiming that drinking has nothing to do with DUI wrecks?

No....I'm not suggesting "rape".....but, I am suggesting that someone remain for the night.....I did have an experience, with my great-uncle......the staff removed him from the extra care section 12 hours after open heart surgery.....in the morning he was back in extra care (I can't think of the name right now)......and died 2 weeks later.....we think if someone had been there he would not have suffered as he did (evidently, something went wrong during that first night, and no one was probably there very soon.....) It's more a protective issue, than an issue with nurses.....also, we watched SOME of the idiots in critical care who watched soaps during the day, (NOT his nurses, by the way) who had no way of communicating with patients (verbally) and dealt with a doctor who "doctored" the books, after we called him about some issues.....anyway, it's a long story, and was a not so great experience in what was supposed to be a good hospital the nurses were the best, although on weekends, watchout..........we learned a lot, and said, we would never leave someone alone again at a hospital....

Yep. Sounds like a "plot" from one of those "snuff" films you hear about these sickos watching. He needs to be castrated and left to die from the resulting infection.

Consider yourself lucky. I personally have been in a situation where, had I not had someone with me, I would've been in real trouble healthwise. A hospitalized person should ALWAYS have a friend or family member who is familiar with his medical history/medications/allergies/treatment plan by his side to advocate and double-check care. It can be the difference btwn a deadly mistake happening and a deadly mistake almost happening.

"Are you seriously suggesting that the average person is in danger of getting raped because s/he spends a night in the hospital?"

Personally, I'd worry more about robbery.

Good..

I certainly am sorry that you had a bad experience at one hospital.

But you simply cannot make a blanket statement like you did.

I listed those family members that have had over night hospital stays. With the exception of my Dad (he died later), they are all still living.

None of them were terrorized in the middle of the night by Jason Jr, etc.

Don't let your common sense and emotions get confused.

Otherwise, using your logic (statement of "Never let a family member stay by themselves overnight in a hospital..) life would be pretty hard to do.......

Again, I won't say that "I understand your pain" - I can't, but what you say strikes me as borderline 'The World will end tomorrow!" stuff - tin foil hat material, etc.

What you experienced, you personally, does not make the rest of the world wrong.

I was NOT talking about being "terrorized".....just about the fact that nurses cannot be everywhere at all times, especially in the middle of the night (or on weekends) when the staff is smaller....Sheesh. And, maybe I should qualify what I said with....stay with those who are unable to take care of themselves, i.e. the elderly, children, or very ill.....

Yes. It's widely known that there were no instances of rape or molestation before pornography became widely available.

Also, no one was ever murdered before the game Grand Theft Auto came out.

Additionally, spoons cause people to become fat, guns cause murder, and pencils are responsible for spelling errors.

And don't forget. Magazines are responsible for the death of Islamofascists.
