...Therefore, be it hereby resolved that the Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church:
1. Calls upon the United Methodist Board of Pensions to review its investments and undertake a process of phased, selective divestment from any multinational corporations profiting from illegal demolition of Palestinian homes, destruction of Palestinian economy and confiscation of Palestinian land,...

The Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church will soon consider and likely approve one resolution to divest in Israel's resources for self-defense from terrorists, and another resolution attacking the United States with Newsweek-style claims of torture and prisoner abuse orginating from the terrorist community.
As UMC officials in Richmond keep their leftist legislative agenda unadvertised until their June conference in Hampton, Va, interested parties must do some digging (and badgering) to find it. The five items up for consideration this year are buried in a 160 page "Book of Reports."
The resolutions begin on page 107:

I've isolated the resolutions here:

Too many of the so-called mainline churches are actively supporting terrorism.

Meanwhile, in "Palestine," Arab Christians are being harrassed, shaken down, and ethnically cleansed.
Glad to see these creeps have their priorities straight.

These are the same sort of people who encouraged the Nazis to destroy the Jews in Germany.

This is extremely one-sided and uncalled for and is unhelpful in promoting peace between the parties.

Within the past week, I read an article in
"Whistleblower" magazine which references this activity.
According to the article, "Mainline Churches Marching Leftward," the Presbyterian Church USA voted at its 2004 general assembly to divest from Israel. The author, Art Moore, speculated how long it would be before other "mainline" denominations followed the PCUSA example.
United Methodists everywhere should follow this and begin to prepare now. Regardless of what happens to this particular resolution, it's likely that something similar will be introduced at the 2008 United Methodist General Conference.

Aren't these folks awfully full of themselves? This is exactly what they did years ago when they collected pennies in Sunday schools and turned them over to the ANC to buy guns and pay murderers to kill non-communists in South Africa.

I believe the Lord is sorting out the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats, those that are his from those that are not his. Those in tune with His Spirit know Israel is close to God's heart. Huge worldwide Christian prayer movements for Israel are currently in effect. See link below:
