I'd rather have a root canal than listen to Leahy,LOL
He's one of the absolute worst in a generally horrible population of senators.

I need to take a shower and then Leahy started talking. Think I'll wait until after he speaks, as I will surely need one then! Don't bother to shower. Don't forget, we've got Schumer, the Swimmer, Durbin, et al before this is over.
To: Kerretarded
Well I didn't have breakfast, only coffee, so maybe it was "un-conscious!"

Specter may very well vote against Owen. But I think he'll vote for cloture ... That assumes a cloture motion will be filed. Rule XXII is ONE way to end debate, but it is not the ONLY way to end debate.
We may see political pressure used to end debate, said political pressure being exerted without cloture.

The Dems have offered nothing other than the usual rhetoric.
Frist came prepared with researched argument. Spectre at least presented a joint argument about how the senate had come to this point historically.
All we get from the Dems is lies, accusations the right wing is controlling this, and please for RINO's to join them. There he goes again! leahy is pleading for Rep support.
They have nothing to contribute to this debate.
To: ken5050
Now Leahy is begging for 6 Republicans! This is pathetic.

Hehe, they are still looking for the magic 6 senators to jump ship. Profiles in courage, my you know what.

Actually, he just called for her confirmation in a voice vote.
All Specter said that is distasteful to us, is that he's amenable to vote against Saad; i.e. through regular procedure, the Dems could work with RINO's to defeat what they consider "extreme" candidates, w/o nuclear option.

Which, I understand, is part of the Dems' cheating plan. They only use the truth when it serves their purpose. All their power is given to them through chaos. Without social chaos, there's no need for Democrats.

Good idea: weed killer. I am trying to decide whether Leahy is poison ivey, thistle, or (my personal favorite) stink-weed.
Off I go!
To: Raycpa
It is important for future issues that the record be clear about what has led to this. Boring but necessary and prudent.HEAR HEAR - what you said about Spectre's task, and no doubt about much of the next days' Senate, is entirely true ... this type of history and process must be addressed thouroughly before Frist calls for an end to this discussion.

Just thought everyone would be relieved to know that Clinton and Gere have everything under control!!!

Let me back up and clarify ... if Specter votes for Owen, more power to him, but it's more important to me to get his vote on cloture AND to support any ruling by Cheney that would invoke the nuclear option. I don't think his vote is needed on Owen; his vote is needed on the other two things.

You're right. It's hard to listen them regurgitate the same lies over and over, but somebody's got to :-)
Leahy says 'some in the Senate feel they are above the rules' and just thanked Specter!

The Democrats need to be kicked out. They are useless, that becomes clear with every word. the only ones involved in this fight are the RINO's and Reps. The Dems are irrelevant.
