Welcome, all you Freepers, to the continuing C-span soap operas about judicial nominations. "The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...
Doesn't Hilliary also wear pop beads from time to time? Of course, we ALL know she has no clothes taste. LOL.
uh-oh, now you did it
That depends on the conclusion of the meeting. If no conclusion, never.
Do you think there will be a final decision re: the Byrd Option by the weekend?
I don't know what you mean by that question. Frist is determined to see this issue through to the point of getting votes on nominees. That decision is final.
I suspect a tactical direction has already been mapped out. Those tactics may or may not change as events unfold. Since I don't know the tactics, I don't have an opinion regarding the finality of any aspect of them.
I don't think there will be serious TIME pressure to take the vote on Owen until next week. Frist will leave the DEMs with something specific to think about, and something to talk about on the Sunday shows. "All we ask for is an up or down vote. We can avoid rule change, nuclear option, etc., just debate, then vote. It's a reasonable request. It's a fair request."
So do I. However, recalling the late-night debate over Miguel Estrada, I fear that Hatch talks a good game but always folds when the time comes.

Someone must have announced they eat after the presser.
Damn straight. A Republican can disagree with the President but under NO cicumstances will I tolerate betrayal.
ANY Republican that thinks he will win high office by stabbing the knife in the President's back is going to be educated when they lose in stunning defeat. Hear that Mccain? hear that Hagel and Chafee?
This president has won my Respect. I don't agree with everything but I will NEVER tolerate abuse toward him to curry favor with the MSM.
I think you have a winning bet.
Mark Levin just said the same thing on Hannity, and he is dead right. So heads up, Pubbie staffers, the money and the votes are going to dry up.

He's got that right I am taking notes and names! Specter so far has ticked me off the most, from our side any way!
Liberals are born again believers in obstructionism-Inhofe

Pelosi: 'Democrats Will Not Be Silenced; We Will Not Be Intimidated by the Republicans' Arrogant Power Plays'

What? The Empress has no clothes?
Figured I'd find you here.
LOL ...
"Let's eat!"
you have phrased it perfectly (regarding the basic thesis of this so-called compromise):
"give away your votes to avoid a rules change"
that's exactly it.
they keep saying that, when will they actually be silent?
