Welcome, all you Freepers, to the continuing C-span soap operas about judicial nominations. "The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...
The will probably be too chicken to get up and tell the world that they are going against what their constituents voted for them to do---
One that might be interesting is Sen. Whatishisname from Colorado that campaigned on the basis of NOT filibustering judicial nominees...wonder what he will tell his constituents?
"Senior senator from New York, my ass..."
Jeeeze ..what a blow hard
Feinkinstein!
Thank Goodness I did my morning offering.
I know you're right. It just makes me MAD.
*
And wrong! Liars and morons, all of them.
He'll be a one term wonder...
Feinstein is up Help me please! As for the judges! nominate 200 hundred more! Go Rush GO! It's about whether elections matter! Yes, I hear you!!!!!
I will not be at all surprised if this takes until late next week, or even mid- week after that. This vote will come, but "these things must be done carefully" as the wicked witch said to Dorothy.
Harry Reid already has halted the Senate---he announced the very first thing this morning that he will NOT allow any committees to meet during these nomination debates, which basically shuts all legislative work down....
If the committees can't meet--no work gets done..
Given her constituents, I'm suprised it's not 9 to 1.
DiFi's invocation of "our democracy" by the Dems in this context is highly, highly ironic.
And the other thing going unsaid is this.....
Because their actions, wittingly or no, are guided by postmodern ethics, they believe in the Moral Superiority of what they do, and that because of that rules and traditions dont apply.
So the Republicans willing to be bound by a Modernist ethos, are always at a disadvantage. If they exercise power, the PMs decry them as power hungry. If they fail to use it they lose to a weker party.
What the (r)'s did, by bottling up Clinton nominees they were able to do because they were an elected Majority. IF the Democrats are willing to bring forth the Filibuster in an unprecedented manner, as a Minority, there is no reason to think that bypassing this option now, will keep them from Using it at the first opportunity.
Cheered at that bit of news.
Democrats are the minority by no ones doing but their own. If they wish to be bigoted toward people of faith, support our enemies and reject the will of the American people in elections they will continue to lose elections. It is that simple.
Rush and i are on the same page today. He thinks they need a spanking and dunce cap, I though Reid needed a pacifier and blankie. LOL
This is pretty sad. No one cares what the Dems are saying. They are completely irrelevant. Do they realize it's all going in and out of our ears? The only people drawing attention in this thread are the Republicans, and that is because the Republicans are contributing something of substance to discuss.
And split the 9th circus
Again "checks and balances" when they really want minority rule.
