Don't count Cox out of this. I think he has an outside chance.

ALMOST as good a matchup as Rudy, IMO. Hope he's serious.

I don't even understand why Hillary should run for Senate in 2006. As soon as her 2nd term starts, she'll have to start campaigning for 2008. Why not just bow out so she can concentrate her full efforts on the presidential run?

Don't know too much about him so I can't say. Anyone who runs against Hillary is going to have a tough race ahead! I hope he is up for it.

Because she wants to keep her Senate seat in case she loses her presidential bid. She's not going to give it up. Lieberman didn't and neither did Kerry. Why give up power and a good salary!

Scared that if she loses the presidential run, she loses everything. If she doesn't bow out, she thinks she'll at least have four more years of her Senate term.

Could be an interesting race.

(There's a rumor going around that Hillary! hates Cox.)

I'm all for this. He might just know a lot on Hillary...stuff we never dreamed of. Do I sound terrible??

One of the first things I learned about Hillary and Watergate was that what she proposed to bring him down was both illegal and unconstitutional. The more I found out about her, the more I got to believe "she will do anything" for what she wants and rid (or blackmail) anyone who might stand in her way. I do believe she is a dangerous woman.

Let's be honest about this though. President Bush didn't give up the Texas Governor's office until after he was sure he won President either.

Reelected in 1998

And Ran for President in 2000.

She would run, win and step down. NY could care less. It's a Dem stronghold and they can replace her with another Dem so there is no loss.

But I wouldn't make a bet just yet that she will win NY again.

Thats true. Look at Edwards - he gave up the Senate seat and he all but disappeared into the woodwork. She's a very smart and conniving woman.

The sweet justice of a defeat of The Beast by a son-in-law of Nixon is just too good. If he's forming a committee I'd say he's got sufficient "you-know-whats" already. It's heartening, especially considering Rudy's seeming distaste for it.

I disagree. He's got name recognition as well as famous family ties. If he goes against The Beast, I think the $$ will come rolling in. Hope I'm not being to optimistic, but she does inspire hatred.
