OK, folks..let's se what going to happen today as we move closer to the showdown in the Senate. Live, at 1 PM EST on C-span 2, "Searchlight" Reid is holding a presser to discuss judicial nomination. The Senate then convenes at 2PM, and as Majority Leader, Frist will make the opening statement. Then Reid will speak. Frist as pissed at Reid last week..for announcing a possible compromise on the Senate floor without FIRST telling him of it..and Frist has yet to speak about Reid's comments about FBI files. Should be fireworks..
I can quote WB cartoons randomly, it drives my husband nuts when my sister and I start it - she's got my neice doing it too since she was small. I have a friend who can, too. When he was preparing for his bar exam, his wife said "if you can memorize all the dialog from the cartoons, you can pass the bar!" He did.
sorry...left my link open</b> That's better :)
Yes- with the hunting hat and widdle popgun! LOL
Either Fudd or Wiley Coyote works for me.
I do think we will see fireworks today on the Senate floor..Last week, Reid came tot he floor..offered a compromise on judges..offered to bring up a few immediately..WITHOUT telling Frist before of his proposal..Frist was really mad..he had to run back to respond..then got into the whoel shebang with Sheets..so today..Frist , during leader's time..talked about his trip to Africa again..in effect saying nothing about anything..the Frist walked off the floor while Reid was speaking, er, whining, er complaining...Reid accused Frist of not being in control of his caucus..saying that" many Republicans had secretly come to him..etc.."..so look for Frist to come back to the floor today.when Reid isn't expecting it..and fire back..
Why is Dorgan talking about China?
Now talking about China building Cars and planning to sell them in the United States.....
Just as an aside, the question of how Ben Nelson might vote was brought up on this thread.

See post #67 for an intersting tidbit on how Nelson has voted in the past. Might even follow the thread back from there if you want to. Nelson's a moderate.
Was there even one county in Nebraska that didn't go for Bush? I don't remember seeing any blue there, but I could be wrong. Nelson may not go so far as to vote with us, but it is not a foregone conclusion that he will vote against us. He may not even vote.
I was thinking that too... from your lips to heaven's ears!
thanks for the heads up...I have the VCR here ready in my room. I am going to let my students see, and dissect, Dingy Harry's speech. I hope Frist comes on before class....in 20 mins.
Remember I've refused all Knick bets for years though you never seem to pay attention!
Dorgan talking about Chinese piracy. Good Lord man, lose the rug.
Can anyone give a short Summary of what we missed, or will happen?
ROFL! Helmet head! lol
"it is high time to break out the kryptonite and honestly appraise the record and actions of Colin Powell."
AMEN TO THAT! Unfortunately, Colin is not the Conservative Hawk some imagine him to be....
I doubt if we'll see much today, but we can hope.
Aha..you caught the obscure "six" pack reference..very good of you..
I would be willing to bet that the first judicial fight begins Friday...with the result pre-ordained....Frist wins, and the judicial filibuster goes the way of the buggy whip.
BTWE..my super long shot special is that Lieberman retires..the GOP could get that seat..
"Frist dissed, pissed.."
Onyx is just a Bodfish without a lake.
