Liberals: "We Can Do Anything As Long As We Say We're Sorry"-(Newsweek says,"OOPS" and it's OK?)
MENS NEWS DAILY.COM ^ | MAY 15, 2005 | SHER ZIEVE

Posted on 05/15/2005 9:53:52 PM PDT by CHARLITE

In front of a class of High School students, Harry Reid called President Bush a loser. Then, he said he was sorry. Then, he took his apology back. But, it was alright because he’d already given his sham regret. CBS broadcast a bogus story with bogus documents about President Bush’s Military service. When the fakery of the story was brought to light, CBS finally…sort of…apologized.

Now, Newsweek has published an article about our military men and women flushing the Muslim Quran (or portions thereof) down a toilet, in order to intimidate Islamic prisoners. However, the story was and is false! This time, however, the liberal MSM went too far. Newsweek’s bogus story caused Islamic riots against the United States, which are still ongoing, in Afghanistan and may be spreading to other countries. Apparently, there is no depth too low to which the anti-American mainstream press won’t sink; as long as its “stories” are anti-Military and anti-Bush. However, it’s alright because Newsweek has now said that they’re sorry they have caused a global incident! So, brushing off their hands, their editorial staff is on to their next story. And as the world-wide conflict over its fake story continues to escalate, Newsweek can say (with all appropriate condescension): “We said we were sorry. What more do the masses want?”

The problem, of course, is that the average Islamic Afghani, Iranian or Indonesian already believes the worst about the US and won’t pay any attention to the “apology”. I’ll venture a guess that the average foreign Muslim doesn’t read English and the fact that Newsweek’s story was false (and its attendant apology) will not be printed in any Muslim newspaper. They wouldn’t believe it, anyway. So, once again our leftist press has played into the hands of the terrorist enemies of our county. And once again, our MSM has joined hands with their Taliban, Baathist and Hamas brethren. Each, in their own way, wants to bring down the United States of America.

I do, however, have a question. Will the mainstream press EVER be brought to task for their actions? First Amendment protection does not extend to the deliberate faking of a story that, in turn, has already caused the deaths of at least fifteen Afghani citizens and has further placed the lives of our military men and women in jeopardy…lives that may be lost due to this latest MSM fiasco. The Newsweek story is just the latest in a series of mainstream press hate pieces…hatred for Americans. Will charges ever be brought against our MSM and leftist-leader seditionists? If there was ever a time that “Fire!” was falsely screamed in a theatre, this is it. If they are allowed to continue to get away with their sedition…nee treason…their actions will only become worse. Isn’t it time that someone with the power of law brought an end to this madness?

I definitely don't think it is the place for a magazine to run false stories to attempt to bring down the government. Of course this is bad -- and good people should get the word out and definitely boycott the magazine and its advertisers.

It is not ludicruous, that is what they are, the lot of them. It is why China and Russia and Joe Galloway and newsweek editors and TV anchors and half the democratic party are as one that Bin Laden is righter than George Bush, the latter is the greater enemy to civilization, the American soldier is the villain, everything the US does it immoral, its power is the focus of evil in the modern world, and all the rest of it. What planet are you living on? They have been screaming themselves hoarse since months before the invasion of Iraq, in chorus. They run over their own principles and standards and reach over backwards to lie to further this cause, in lockstep.

Why, because they are commies - meaning they are exactly the sort who believe it is horrible that a capitalist country runs half the world, that the US wins wars against terrorists instead of being destroyed by Fanonesque revolt. They've been lionizing the same murderers for the same political reasons since Stalin, through Castro and Mao and Ho Chi Minh, Arafat, and now this crowd of Islamicist nutjobs. That whole time, they never met a pack of murderous enemies of the US they wouldn't worship, a tyrant they wouldn't suck up to and take baksheesh from, or a US soldier they wouldn't smear. They are commies. Learn it, live it. Yes that means toss Newsweek, it has no reason to exist, it contributes nothing to the world, it should shut up and go away. It means far more than that, in addition. It means watch them, they are still up to it and will still be up to it tomorrow. They are out and out commies. That variety of hard core no principles radicalized hater has taken over the modern left in both Europe and America.

Our active enemies is a shooting war just got 10 million new recruits, nimnut! That is sort of a practical matter on the ground where our sons are getting shot at. They aren't getting shot at to get pols elected; whole political parties put up with crapstorms trying to get our sons what they need to do their jobs.

Newsweek will not be boycotted, it is a political organization who has enough supporters to keep it afloat, (which would be fine if they admitted they are a political org, as the rest of the elite NY media are), but the left has ever right to try and change the US into their vision.

False stories, no stories, hyped stories, ect, have been being run for 40 years, for as long as the NY media have been in charge, and along with Hollywood they are a powerful force.

It is a battle ongoing. And they won this round.

By exposing interrogation techniques, true or not true, it does not matter.

Their goal was to make our enemies victims of an evil US.

No wonder the troops give so many exclusives to FOX news. They can trust them.

We don't have to boycott Newsweek. We have to talk to the advertisers. How can they want to be associated with a rag that has put our troops in danger and that has caused the deaths of "innocent?" people?

It's fine by me. They can keep lying, and we'll keep busting them.
They lose credibility and we gain it. What's the problem?

If it weren't for:
Seventeen dead, increased hostility to our troops/those supporting democracy and aiding the terrorist's recruitment with a false story from our press, I'd agree with you.

Note this is taken from a Reuters report on the Newsweek "Dan Rather" style retraction and semi-apology to the victims:

Newsweek said on Sunday the report might not be true.
"We will not be deceived by this," Islamic cleric Mullah Sadullah Abu Aman told Reuters in the northern Afghan province of Badakhshan, referring to the magazine's retraction.

So who are the "victims"?

Newsweek must pay a criminal price for the deaths.

Definitly a civil price.

No, the ringleaders and Islamicist clerics have been calling on them to do so, to follow them and fight us to the death - but the rank and file have not been paying much attention to them. There has been and still is precious little unity in the Muslim world - on any subject, let alone on politics, or religion - especially not enough to go get killed over. That is why most of the population of Iraq voted, and most of the population of Afghanistan supports their new government. We have carefully made it possible to be a Muslim and not be at war with us, for those who choose not to be at war with us. The leaders of our enemies want it to be impossible to be a Muslim and not be at war with us. This incident is a blood libel designed to make the second true in practice, at the expense of the former. Which we will pay for with blood.

The problem is that Islam, itself, is incompatible with modern civilization, and it intends on taking over the world. It also has a Nazi-like obsession against Jews.

The sooner we start fighting the war to banish Islam, the better. I don't mean we have to kill all Muslims -- after all, did we have to kill all Nazis? No, I mean, we have to kill the concept like we killed the concept of Nazism.

Islam, itself, does not do anything because Islam, itself, does not exist. Deluded human individuals doing criminal and stupid things exist. Getting rid of every human stupidity is a task beyond our powers. Getting most of said people to prefer a quiet life with their own conscience directing their own errors but without killing themselves fighting us, is perfectly feasible. It was perfectly feasible in 1960 and it is perfectly feasible now. The US survived 200 years on the same globe as millions of deluded people not a few of them evil to boot, and will survive 200 more years of the same. Every time you casually add a hundred million people to our enemy list, on the other hand, you add ten years and ten thousand US boys with missing body parts. If you don't absolutely have to, doing so is irresponsible. If we do absolutely have to, we do it. And these people are deliberately adding to our active enemy list, and that has real costs on the ground, and we should not consider it political gravy that leftists are losing credibility and crow about it. Policy first. On policy this is at present a disaster.

That's just silly.

And I equate Islam with Nazism. Both hate Jews. Both want to exterminate them. Both want to take over the world. But not even Nazism debased and mutilated their women so. And Nazism didn't reject modern society so utterly.

Islam must be eradicated from the planet. If not now, then later.

I prefer now, while we have the upper hand.

I totally agree. I think the "source" of this article should be arrested on put on trial for murder and I think little Mikey should be put on trial as well.

If there is a serious criminal investigation, little Mikey has to reveal his source. People have died as a result of this and it needs to be stopped now.

If our America-hating press continues like this they endanger the entire country.

I don't think that's the stated policy of the Bush Administration.

Have your friends over at DU been telling you we're all Bushbots?
