Committee Reassesses Sex-Ed Decisions (Montgomery County, MD)

Teacher Resource Materials for Montgomery Curriculum Called Too Judgmental

As chairman of the 27-member committee overseeing the rewrite of Montgomery County Public Schools' sex education curriculum, David Fishback, the father of two, knew he was venturing into sensitive territory....snip

But when a federal judge this month issued a 10-day order blocking the school system from teaching the curriculum that for the first time would have allowed teachers to initiate discussions about homosexuality in eighth grade and would have offered a seven-minute video on how to put on a condom to 10th-graders, Fishback was shocked at the reasoning.

It wasn't the carefully worded curriculum the committee helped write -- curriculum reviewed at length by school system staff -- that derailed the new approach.

Rather, the program was undone by a packet of teacher resource materials that few on the committee thought would draw notice or objections and that students would not likely see.

But members of two groups that opposed changes in the course -- Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum and Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays -- saw big problems with the supporting materials. They feared that the viewpoints expressed in the pieces -- articles that in some cases singled out religious denominations less tolerant of homosexuality, such as Baptists -- inevitably would slip into the classroom. A federal judge agreed.

"The Court does not understand why it is necessary, in attempting to achieve the goals of advocating tolerance and providing health-related information, Defendants must offer up their opinion on such controversial topics as whether homosexuality is a sin, whether AIDS is God's judgment on homosexuality and whether churches that condemn homosexuality are on theologically solid ground," wrote Judge Alexander Williams Jr. in granting the groups' request ...snip

Amazing, Liberals lose in ultra-liberal Montgomery County, Maryland.

The Montgomery County Executive, Doug Dunkin(D) could be hurt in his run against incumbent, Governor Bob Erhlich(R).

Why are schools pushing homosexuality so much recently? Are they also discussing bestiality and pedophilia? Who decided schools were the place to learn about sex? More wasted class time for liberal indoctrination.

Wake up and smell the roses. Liberals only lost the first round. They will be back next year with another plan and the year after that with another. Things arent about to get better in Montgomery County. Why does homosxexuality have to be discussed in the 8th grade at all. It seems for almost 300 years the United States has survived without homosexuality being taught in school. The fruits are looking for recruits and kids are their best target.

This entire gay rights stuff is just an effort to enable gays to find sex partners - nothing more or less. Teaching that being gay is OK in school makes it easier to find gays because ,in theory, they can be open about their sexual preferences starting as early as 7th grade. As these kids grow to adults then the pervs have an easier time finding the young boys to bed down with.

After 20 years in the Navy and 18 years in the private sector I have NEVER witnessed or heard about a single incident where someone was persecuted or had "rights" violated because they were gay. In fact there were many gay people in the Navy - both women and men - who did their jobs and kept their preferences to themselves. Everyone knew they were gay but it didn't matter because they kept their mouths shut.

Imagine if everyone who was heterosexual walked around with a name tag that said "Hi, I'm Joe and I'm heterosexual" - nobody does that. So why is it OK for Bruce to walk around with his tag saying he's gay?

It boils down to ease of finding someone to boink!

Why are schools pushing homosexuality so much recently?
Because that's what homosexuals want them to do. Any effort to stop them is framed as religious extremism.

Are they also discussing bestiality and pedophilia?
There's an effort under way to legitimize pedophilia. Bestiality is several years off. If these behaviors aren't opposed for biological reasons, no objection will survive for long.

It isn't just about homosexual sex. The Homosexual Agenda is just the battering ram for the whole Sex Positive Agenda (which has existed at least since the days of Kinsey).

No shame, no judgements, and everyone sexually active at every age. They believe that abstinence is wrong because it is a denial of sexual desires.

It is quite institutionalized. Look at these questions and responses from a CHILDREN'S hospital:

This is from a "Children's Hospital"

Note the question about a pierced clitoris.

Also:

http://www.teenhealthfx.com/answers/Sexuality/3750.html

Dear 13-Year-Old Friend Has Unsafe Sex,

We’re glad to hear you’re concerned about your ex-friend, but unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to "make her stop" this behavior. We agree that she is very young to be having sex, and that unprotected sex can be very harmful to herself and her partners, but this is her choice, even if you feel it’s a bad one. We’re not sure what you mean by being her "ex-friend," but if you two are still on speaking terms, what you can do is let her know that you are concerned about her. You can suggest that she at least try to practice safer sex and let her know you are there for her if she needs to talk. If you continue to be concerned, you can talk to a counselor or teacher at your school. But ultimately, you are not responsible for changing her behavior.

As for your questions about masturbation and sex outside marriage, there are many religions (including Christianity) that believe these things are sinful and are are laws (or beliefs) of the church (or religion). For more information on what Christians think about masturbation and premarital sex, you might try asking your priest or a family member if you feel comfortable doing so. Regardless, for what it’s worth, TeenHealthFX believes that expressing your sexuality, both with yourself and with partners, is a natural, healthy, beautiful part of life. Religion can play an important role in what we think about these issues, but ultimately, you will come to form your own set of beliefs about how sex fits into your life.

And:
http://www.teenhealthfx.com/answers/Sexuality/731.html

Dear Having To Wait 3 Years,

There is nothing wrong with your girlfriend’s hormones; she has made a personal choice. She sounds like a special person who has thought carefully about sex, and made a decision about what is best for her. Many young people feel pressured to have sex because they believe everybody else is "doing it". Everyone is different and each person has to decide what is right for him or her.

Whether you want to wait 3 years for this girl is a decision you have to make for yourself. Realize that it is possible to be physically intimate in a close, loving relationship with your girlfriend without having intercourse, like hugging and kissing. Remember, if you really do like her it wouldn’t be fair to pressure her into something she is not comfortable doing.

TeenHealthFX is pleased to see that you recognize sex is a major responsibility. While you are anxious to have sex, you want to have it "safely". This shows you are taking the subject seriously. Way to go!

Translated, "You may want to leave her if she won't put out, or maybe you could make her believe that you are 'serious' about sex."

"Encourage sexual activity". Read some Sex Positive agenda materials and you will see them say that abstinence is unhealthy because it is suppressing sexual desires. Same thing they spout about homosexual urges. What about rape? What about adultery? We have free will to do right and wrong.

Why and how have homosexuals and their supporters been allowed to infiltrate our schools?

Duncan (D/Progressive) is up to a lot of things out here that p.o. the liberals.

They vote in a socialist and then are confused and upset when they get socialism. It's sadly amusing.

Bestiality is legal (at least in some states) if it is done in private. I have never heard of any employer being denied the right to fire an animal-sex fetishist.

Animal-human sex porn is illegal whereas same sex sodomy videos were not obscene even in states were same sex sodomy was outlawed.

Also, some states have an age of consent to sex under 18 (some 16 or 17, I think Hawaii was 14). Those minors are permitted to consent to sex with adults of any age. Additionally minors BELOW the age of consent are permitted to "consent" to sex with an adult (or someone over the age of consent) if they are "near" in ages (Romeo & Juliet exceptions even though sex is still taking place). While those minors can consent to sexual activity, they are prohibited from giving consent to appearing in sexually explict films/videos/photos. They can do it, but they can't be seen doing it.

The law is f***ed.

All because of the Sex Positive Agenda refusing to accept that there is such a thing as "age appropriate activity".

Makes you wonder how many clerks and bartenders have argued for a lesser sentence because they served someone who was "near" 18 (tobacco) or 21 (alcohol).

Socialist/progressives have entrenched themselves across the land, infesting government institutions and court benches.

Kinsey is a saint to them (and his archive of porn and sexual exploitation experiments is still funded by Indiana taxpayers).
