Senator James Inhofe just announced all Oklahoma bases are safe and in fact, our bases will be gaining. Fort Sill (Army) will have the largest gain of 3500.
Great Day for the State of Oklahoma who went for the President in all our counties, have open skies to fly, an open firing range at Fort Sill that the town of Lawton doesn't hate and love our military.
Altus is going to lose the C-5 and gain more C-117's, Tinker and Vance AFBs are going to gain personnel in the realignment along with the above mentioned Fort Sill. Our Tulsa ANG will gain more F-16's and our OKC National Guard will lose the C-130's they have and get newer aircraft. The Army at McAllister will remain untoched where conventional bombs are made.
Senator Inhofe gets our praise and thanks for all his hard work in seeing our Oklahoma bases have been upgraded over the years and able to stand the scutiny of DoD.
Bad news for Tulsa -
I live down wind of the F-16 Air National Guard - and the are so NOISY
I guess to expect nopw more NOISE!
Oh thank goodness, PKM!! That's great news!
I guess that my friends in the ARNG up on the Mingo Expressway are OK! (They're the Black Hawk unit that circles my house now and then.)
I was born at Altus AFB.
Great post. Kudos to our Senator, Mr. Jim Inhofe.
Great news for OK.
My building is right next to the Tulsa ANG facility. Nothing like hearing an F-16 take off when you aren't expecting it!
