I hope this day doesn't end without forcing the Democrats hand on the floor of the Senate.

I am not sure what the next steps are (from the Senate rules perspective).

Judge Pryor has been on the bench for several months now. I want to see the Democrats try to portray him as some kind of right-wing maniac, because his ruling so far do not show that. As far as I know, the Constitution has not been shredded in the 11th Circut, slavery has not been reintroduced, and women are not wearing burqas. But this is the kind of stuff Dems warned would happen if Pryor were on the bench.

Republicans say his personal views have nothing to do with his respect for the law.

Although short, this is a fairly balanced AP report. Wonder where their liberal commissar editor is?

Ping.

I know it's AP, but they're saying that Prior is the last of the "threatened filibuster" candidates to make it out of committee.

I want to see them do something with the Henry Saad nomination. The Dems haven't even questioned his competence or his willingness to uphold the law- it's just pure politics on the parts of my states senators.

Even so, this is a good start.

The Democrats reiterate, " Practicing Catholics, Evangelical Christians and Orthodox Jews will not even be included in the pool of potential appellate judges".
