Senator Voinovich: Back Stabber
Blogs for Bush ^ | May 12, 2005 | Mark Noonan

Posted on 05/12/2005 8:52:20 AM PDT by Mark Noonan

I just watched Ohio Senator Voinovich speak on the John Bolton nomination as US ambassador to the United Nations. I have never been so outraged by the actions of a fellow Republican in my life. After spending a good deal of time sliming Mr. Bolton, Voinovich had the nerve to say that he likes John Bolton, but that he wants the Committee to send Mr. Bolton to the Senate without a recommendation.

This does not kill the nomination, but is an outrage that a few short months after we Republicans spent our money and effort to re-elect Senator Voinovich he should stab us in the back by joining the absurd and hate-filled Democratic effort to defeat John Bolton as US ambassador to the United Nations. There is still a lot of hope that we can get Mr. Bolton through the Committee and the full Senate; one has to believe that a majority of Senators are smart enough to see through this sick political grandstanding...but I've a long memory, and I shan't forget. In 2010, I'll remember who stood where in the past.

Every single one of the one-hundred member senate beleive that they can be president. Voinovich has these ambitions but he has killed any chance as a Republican. McCain too.

His reasoning is that we need to be concerned with how the rest of
the world views us. You know, all those countries that voted against us
at the UN because they were in bed with Saddam Hussein.
Bolton just isn't enough of an a$$ kisser for Voinovich.

We again have a perfect demonsrtation of spineless Republican senators who are themselves so filled with personal ambition that they will shoot down their own president.
The Ohio Senator is pathetic.

This is what Voinovich actually said? That we need to be concerned about how the rest of the world views us?

I'm cube-bound today so I'd like to know what came out of this traitor's mouth.

Not one dime EVER to the NRSC. A Republican majority is useless. I will vote against McCain, even if that means voting for a Democrat. I hope Ohio turns out Voinovich. I'm disgusted by my party.

I would certainly hope that federal funding for highways in Ohio would be unavailable this year!

Tell me why it is... that politicians can't stand anyone with a back bone?

b/c for 40 years the insane left and MSM have railed against the assertive male. The Warrior class needs to rise up and destroy these panty wearing Rino's. I hope to live long enough to urinate on all these Rino's graves. These men should be wearing panties on their head...oh, they are probably wearing them under there 500$ pants. What a contemptible lot.

My Prediction: There will be enough RINOS like him to flip on any one issue for the 'Craps to stall every single Bush initiative and nominee

This is the "Two-Party Cartel" that we all have been voting in for these #s of yrs. These pols in both factions are OWNED by the elites. We put the so-called conservatives in & we expect our agenda fulfilled. Since these pols all along were tied to these internationalists they now have to come out of the closet. Just notice on all important issues the elites find enough votes to ruin our causes. You can call it in braille as Chick Hern used to say. The enemy is within & it is within the Senate just as the other known places.

I like my party. I don't like RINOs in the Senate and CINOs on FreeRepublic.

Nothing you can write will convince me to support Democrats, Libertines, or other useless entities.

Nothing you can write will dissuade me from supporting the majority of conservative Republicans.

I apologize to all fellow Freepers for voting for this jack-ass in 2004. In 2010 when he is up for re-election, don't know what I'll do, but I will remember his stance on John Bolton.

Oh yes, I will remember his stance on Bolton.

Please list this great majority of true conservatives with a strong conservative agenda. I sure can list the group of true liberal/socialist/commie democrates who fight 24/7 for their causes. Show me the opposite besides a handfull at best.

But why in heck are we working our tails off and spending our money to elect GOP Senators for? Voinovich too the advantages of being on the ballot in Ohio in a year when, because of President Bush, we put a full-court press into Ohio...he benefitted from this, and now he's dropped dime on us, for ridiculous reasons!

I will donate to whomever runs against him in 2010...and if he's got the nerve to try for the Presidency in 2008...

What was his reasoning?

"If I stab Bolton in the back and suck up to the Rats, the Washington Post and the liberal rag in my home town will write about how 'moderate' and how 'courageous' I am!"

Its time to acknowledge that alot of whats viewed by rank & file republicans as cowardice, isn't.

Face it - many GOP politicians despise conservatives & hate their own party's stated principles. They've chosen the R because they couldn't win the office any other way.

Remember that the next time someone chides you for voting your conscience instead of the party's annointed one.

Which is precisely why conservatives need to stop voting for RINOs, even if the alternative is a DemonRat.

That is a direct quote. He also said we need "Team Work" and how we all have to get along..........the global community.

Please list this great majority of true conservatives with a strong conservative agenda.

The Republican Party is an alliance. The conservatives wield a much greater influence over public policy by virtue of being about three fourths of that alliance. I can only think of a few Republican Senators who are completely unreliable and another few who are far too liberal, so the net is about 6-7 RINOs that make it difficult to rule as a majority in the Senate. The House of Representatives, where the rules are different, and the White House are in better shape than the Senate.
