ON CAPITOL HILL Bolton Vote in Committee The Senate Foreign Relations Committee conducts a debate and vote on the nomination of John Bolton as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Chair Richard Lugar (R-IN) and Ranking Member Joseph Biden (D-DE) continue a review of the nominee, based on issues raised at the committee's April 19 business meeting. 10AM-3:30PM ET ON C-SPAN3
Reid: Hope we can compromise THIS week but without compromise, we're gonna have a SHOWDOWN next week...
Sheets continuing to whine, "WHY do we have to have a showdown???"
Reid: Sit down Sheets, we're not rehasing it here on the floor...
You are forgiven.
I confess I considered voting for Carter before pulling the lever for Ford.
Rush just said that there will be bills proposed today in both the House and the Senate to give all of the illegal immigrants legal status!!!
Kennedy/McCain will propose the one for the Senate---he didn't say who would in the House.....
OMG---THAT will be another fistfight!!
NOw, Byrd is sticking his nose in to help bumbling Reid against FRist...
BTW, Frist said for sure next week they would take up the nominees in order they are on the executive calendar which means Priscilla Owens first.!
provided Bolton is confirmed this week, imo, the 'constitutional' option happens next week. Is that the week you are going to the beach?
Byrd pushing Reid? what gives...
Call for the damn Constitutional Option TODAY, Frist! Do it, damn it.
Yes I think that would raise a few eyebrows if one used that expression nowadays.
Byrd....."Why do we have to have a showdown?"
That's rich. It's the UN that needs oversight!
...what a damn fool
>>With regard to Stone Mountain, your "pretty sure" could not be more wrong. Have you forgotten who their U.S. Rep is? Look it up. The Stone Mountain precincts went 75% plus for Kerry.
Gainesville, on the whole, was slightly GOP and Hall Country was largely GOP. Gainesville was clearly the least GOP area in the County, and the minority precincts went 80% plus for Kerry. And they are growing. Of course, a large portion of the minority population there can't vote. But their kids will be able to.
Again, I'm just saying that your stated view of Pubbies in the 'burbs with long commutes driving into the office is a gross oversimplification of the commuting patterns here..<<
I get your basic point and you are right that I greatly simplified.
But the reason I am reasonably sure about those two areas is that I looked it up. Did you look at that map piece I posted? Its from here
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/vote2004/countymap.htm
But again I get and agree with your basic point.
He is "pained"...lol
Just wait to see what happens if Bolton isn't confirmed. Someone will have to send the white jackets.
Someone needs to remind the dumbos in the senate what happened to Tom Daschle because of his lame obstructionism - out of a job! Where's Terry McCauliffe now due to his vitriolic hatred of Bush - again, out of a job! Shut up and VOTE already!
right now Frist, Sheets and Dingy Harry are acting like at the begining of a sailboat race ,...not GOIN' until, well, what when?? steal your wind , slap you up , now Sheets in "PAIN , PAIN"
Frist and Byrd are getting ready to rumble!!!!!
Byrd just mentioned that they are heading for a 'showdown'.
Frist interrupts and says they are not heading for a 'showdown'.
No, the 22nd!
I sure would hate to be paying for ocean front 4 bedrooms and be inside the whole week........probably with no CSPAN! UGH..........
don't give in Frist!!!!!!
