22 miles in 8 minutes huh? Sounds extemely fast for a small Cessna. 3 k's a minute at 100knots, that's around 21-22k's in 8 minutes.............what gives?

If its Marwan he will get away!

True. And it was a Ryder used in OKC. Don't recall what was used in WTC '93, or perhaps that was just a generic delivery style truck. Still can't think of any successful terrorist attacks by small aircraft.

This guy on Fox is a reactionary ass. Aassumes that it was "some spoiled rich kid". Totally wrong on all facts concerning today. Believe me!! Thank you for your service. What is your take on who did this and a motive?
To: AppyPappy
Well I don't own a dog so that narrows things down.

It means that GA resists any new regulations to impose more security on small strips and hobbyports. Planes go unguarded. Lobbying efforts, PR efforts insist that "no real threat" comes from private planes in the fight against terrorism.

Not really but I remember some Arab saying Atta gave him info in code...I remember...2 sticks (towers) and a cake with a stick hanging down (Capitol Building and Mall if you look at a map of DC).
9-11 and all the Anthrax mailings were on a Tuesday. I'd like to say...look at an Islamic Calendar and it is available on the web but I think they have to relate to US Time etc..

Nope. But where you've got rich people playing golf, you've got rich people flying. These days, it's in the eggbeaters.

Sounds extemely fast for a small Cessna.
Add the wind speed.

I find his commentary insulting and not useful under the circumstances. Only adding to the confusion by ardently speculating on "some spoiled rich kid." (Sounds like he's got it in for "spoiled rich kids;" that would be profiling and that would be wrong....heh, heh, heh. Note: I am not a spoiled rich kid.)

I'm concerned that this plane was within 3 miles of the White House.
Are we still hestitant to shoot down?
I know there are orders in place, but when it comes to the rubber meeeting the road someone has to push the button.
To: ARCADIA
Yeah that and the humid is low today.

~Americans~ resist kneejerk restrictions on the freedom of people, that's not restricted to just general aviation.
And I'd guess usually, you're on the side of freedom for citizens. You just have a thing against airplanes.
To: tomkat
I have to keep my evil thoughts to myself. There are times when the words I would like to say would burn up everyone's screens. Being a member of the White House Press Corps must mean that if one has the lowest IQ in the pool of available reporters at a given newspaper, radio or TV station, that is where you get assigned. That is why they stay there so long. No one else wants the job...and no one else wants to hire them away. I would think it would be considered a dead end job for dead enders. Look at Helen Thomas. All it ever did for her was turn her into a crotchety, shriveled, arrogant, sour old woman. Yea, maybe some are good...those are the "token" smart ones. The rest are worthless.

I think the 22 mile radius is about 19 nautical miles.
