Test of Hispanic boycott fails in Arizona

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

An immigrant advocacy group asked Hispanics to boycott businesses and to stay home from work yesterday to protest legislation by Arizona lawmakers targeting illegal aliens, and said it was a trial run for a full-scale, three-day economic protest planned for July. "This is a test so people can see and feel the power we have and the actual stranglehold we have on the economy of this state," Elias Bermudez, executive director of Centro de Ayuda, an immigrant advocacy group in Phoenix, told reporters this week. "We contribute to the greatness of this state and we should not be pushed around like we are." Although advertised extensively on Spanish-language radio and television stations, most community and civic leaders agreed that yesterday's boycott was a failure because many potential participants could not afford to lose a workday or business income. But the real effort will take place in July, organizers said, when Hispanics in Phoenix and Tucson will be asked again to boycott businesses and stores and to stay home from work.

At the next boycott the INS should show up with paddy wagons and haul these lawbreakers off for deportation. That'll teach em.

According to the Arizona Republic(Phoenix paper) it was a success

That's because the Arizona Repugnant is a pro illegal immigrant piece of bird cage liner, and is frequently referred by us here as " The Rag."

They are a lying heap.

Yesterday, I worked at an out patient medical clinic in Central Phoenix proper. Many work injuries (legitimate ones) came in, many of those, Hispanic, ( who could have been questioned about their legality) with injuries sustained that day.

Lacerations, contusions, fractures...you name it, they were there. All done at work. We know this, because their supervisors brought them in.

A local radio station (KFYI) had many supervisors call in, and they told them that they had a 100% attendance rate, because those workers did not want to lose their jobs, if they did not show to work.

Had they not, one particular supervisor who called in, said that he'd have to "review" their paperwork, to see if all was really legit.

He was one of those, who, for one of the first times, had 100% attendance of all of his employees.

As I mentioned on another thread, there was the "usual" gatherings of day laborers hanging out along the street in downtown Guadalupe.

The truth is, the boycott failed miserably. The AZ Rag is lying again as per usual.

""This is a test so people can see and feel the power we have and the actual stranglehold we have on the economy of this state," Elias Bermudez"

Sounds like an unveiled threat to me. Next will come the violence. Thanks, Jorge for loading us up with illegal peasants.

Now if we could just get all Americans to understand that it is the veterinarians in Washington DC who keep cutting the dogs claws so short, he can't scratch his skin to soothe the itch and rid himself of these fleas before they infest the entire house.

Nope, but I do wonder why some people think it's OK to treat and use illegals as if they were expendable pieces of crap.

And just to be clear, I am not implying that you do.

I think that is always funny.

When they passed the anti-illegal law in CF. The protestors were waiving MEXICAN flags and had signs in spanish.

The only thing that does is make the rest of the country MORE anti-illegal immigrant.

Just shows you how comfortable these employers are. They don't even mind advertising their hiring practices.

So, what're the odds of someone in California getting ICE to show up in Arizona for a raid?

866-347-2423 is a national 800 number. Yes, a FREE CALL.

There is Freepers in Phoenix, Arizona who profess to be against illegal immigration. I am presuming they are capable of calling and making the report.

Call 866-347-2423

In the man on the street statements in the EV Tribune today were the most stupid quotes. When asked if they were worried about illegal immigrants, the first response was "No. Because it's goign to happen anyway." The second was a jumble: She said she was glad they could come over for work, but wishes they were more responsible. The third respondent was the only one who saw it as a problem.

Although advertised extensively on Spanish-language radio and television stations, most community and civic leaders agreed that yesterday's boycott was a failure because many potential participants could not afford to lose a workday or business income.

Let me see now. Most potential participants (aka illegal aliens) couldn't afford to lose a days wages and now Senor Bermudez says he fully expects the 3-day boycott in July to be an even bigger success. Must be something in the water (Tequila flavored water apparently) in his area as this kind of thinking is just as convoluted as their reasoning on the entire subject of their sense of 'entitlement' to American citizenship and American tax payer dollars.

Why the hell should "hispanics" boycott? The legislation being adderssed won't affect the lives of LEGAL hispanic immigrats. Perhaps the race-baiting idiot who's organizing this might want to check with ILLEGAL aliens of other ethnic groups if he wants to get his "boycott" numbers to go up. I'm sure some illegal arabs "targeted" by this law would be happy to "boycott" as well. Even ILLEGAL europeans in arizonas who leech off our system would be inclined to boycott.

Bring your boycott on, we'll just see how "dependant" America is on illegal aliens. The millions of legal citizens of Arizona should get along just fine without having some border hopper mow their lawn for 25 cents an hour that day.
