After urging the spread of democracy in Latvia, The Netherlands, Russia and Georgia, President (and Laura) Bush returned to the White House. The president will resume work with Congress on Social Security and judicial nominees, as well as seeking help from China on getting North Korea back to negotiations on its nuclear weapons program.
Grenade thrown at our president in Georgia.
Text of Bush's speech in Georgia.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island.
I've linked to the 'dancing' videos at post #158!
I bet someone owns the copyright and will make some money once they are released, just helping dad to bed will be back in a few minutes for a little while.
Thanks, phancy. Check out post #198 for our boring family update. ;o)
I stand corrected.. If does run and win it won't be the first time that a Grandfather/Grandson won. The first time happend when Benjamin Harrison won the Presidency. He was the Grandson of President William Henry Harrison who only served for one month..
WOW . . . I need a rest just reading your itinerary for the summer!!!
C-Span will re-broadcast the President's speech at 1:35 AM EST and C-Span2 will re-broadcast the speech at 4:12 AM PM EST

I'll say -- I'd be going nuts about now ..!!! So your sons are both marrying .. did Eric know your new DIL before he went to Iraq?
Don't worry Ohio, we'll take good care of her out here!
I don't understand how a grenade could have been thrown on the stage with him. He was surrounded with a bullet proof screen.
From a news article:
Ongoing fights in violent separatist regions, military campaigns against terrorists in the Pankisi Gorge and the recent abductions of foreigners presented security challenges that required Bush to deliver his open-air speech from a podium surrounded by a high wall of a clear bulletproof screen with sharpshooters on rooftops surrounding the square.

They say his bomb throwing came up short and had no effect :-)
Is the President pulling Beazie's tail?
Fox said about an hour ago that it hit someone in the crowd and fell to the floor and no one was hurt. Do you think from this that it was a "dummy" ?
A very good analysis indeed. Thanks for the link.
Think he was just reaching for her and she's too fast for him.
Hubby said it had to be a dud...when you pull the pin and release the lever, you have about 3 to 5 secs before they explode..
