Yes, we have to pray for our leaders and that one was appropriate. Only TOO appropriate looking back in hindsight. Hindsight's 20/20 in some cases.

W's OK as is everyone else. That's very important. Good prayer. Good job.

The Georgian security forces could have made this up for prestige reasons, or political reasons etc. Georgia is that kind of country. People would have panicked if they saw a grenade tossed or security jumping on the grenade.

After Bush left Georgia on Tuesday, the Secret Service was informed by Georgian authorities of a report that a device, possibly a hand grenade, had been thrown within 100 feet of the stage during Bush's speech, hit someone in the crowd and fell to the ground, Secret Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry said.

According to the report, a Georgian security officer picked up the device and removed it from the area. The Secret Service had not seen the device as of Tuesday evening, Cherry said. It has agents in Tbilisi working with the FBI, State Department and Georgian authorities to investigate the report.

Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Guram Donadze at first said no grenade was thrown close to Bush, calling it a lie, but later said the secretary of Georgia's National Security Council, Gela Bezhuashvili, would make an announcement about the reports Wednesday.

Cherry said he couldn't characterize the source of the report that a device had been thrown.

I was concerned about this trip when I heard about it. For all we know, Putin might have tried the same thing with Bush as the remainder KGB did with the Ukrainian president. In fact, who knows that he hasn't tried that yet?

SS still hasn't inspected the 'device', this makes me wonder if it ever existed.

This was from the website yesterday:

"Q Security is pretty dicey in Georgia. Are you guys worried at all about the open-air speech?

MR. McCLELLAN: We have great confidence in the security precautions that are taken for this trip and all our trips. We wouldn't be going if that wasn't the case.

Q Is there any contradiction in all of his talk about open societies and freedom and free speech, and yet every city we go to is virtually locked down when we come through it, mostly for security reasons? Doesn't it send a message that he's coming through locked-down cities?

MR. McCLELLAN: I don't think I'd view it quite the same way. The President is really looking forward to this trip for each stop along the way. It's been a really good trip so far, and the President is looking forward to finishing the trip in Georgia. I think it's an opportunity for people in these areas to hear directly from the President of the United States, and for us to herald the great things that they are doing to move forward on the path of democracy. Like I said, I expect a rather large crowd tomorrow, and I think people understand the necessity of the security precautions that are taken, particularly when we're in a time of war. "

I am so upset about this. What kind of crap is that, someone throwing a hand grenade which could have blown up next to the President? That is insane. What is the latest on this story?

I have been praying that same prayer over President Bush ever since the very first time I saw him on TV - as he began his campaign for President. I can't explain it - it's just something that I do.

This story is now the one getting all the play instead of the wildly cheering crowds greeting Bush in Georgia. That's too bad.

How many Georgians turned out to see our President? 150,000? There is always one nut ball in a crowd that size. Given the size of the crowd, I think President Bush made a huge impact in that part of the world. There is so much that can be done in Crawford, Texas with visiting world leaders. What he did in Freedom Square in Tbilisi, Georgia will be spoken about for generations. George Bush is one of the greatest presidents this country has ever had for the cause of freedom. The jubilant crowd let him know their feelings about his place in history today. The left is crying in their beer because there is nothing they can say to minimize that fact.

Not necessaryly everybody is happy that Georgia is distancing from Russia.
People seen that counries like Romania and Yugoslavia were prised for their anti-russian(soviet) stance, then dropped from grace when the situation changed...
Also the counry is dangerously close to the Middle East with a lot of muslim influence.

Politics is insane... Unfortunatley.

I guess officially they will find a "lone looser" who wanted some attention because his girlfreiend left him...

I guess there is no interest in chewing too long on the extent of anti-american sentiment in the region...

So that will be an incident to be forgotten...

"I couldnt believe it when i heard it! "

But you must, this is not the USA. Look up info on theses part of the world and your learn of stadium section seating being blown to bits and pieces as leaders sit. There are also pictures available of these wrecked areas and bomb cities. It's no San Francisco.

Yeah these people will cut your head off and video tape it. lol. Well at least that's what they will do to any captured Russian soldier.

No muslim country will ever be a SuperPower as they lack a sanctity of life ideology and their women are not empowered..

THEY WILL BE TOAST!

I mean I wish I had a dollar for every time I hear if someone either calling fir his impeachment or assassination!

They make me sick!

And it's bad enough Americans are doing all this but when you get someone from another country trying to murder GWB or any member of his family, well, I have a real problem with that. Then you get these leftie know-nothings wishing the guy hadn't of missed!

I did change my tagline yesterday when I seen GWB and Laura were back home safe, but I think maybe I shouldve left it alone. In fact, I think I'll change it back again!
