This one issue is making it real difficult for me to have any respect for the president and the republican party. When I think of the danger and the hypocrisy on the part of the president it makes me sick that I voted for him twice. The homeland security department and the patriot act are worthless wastes of money when we have an open border. The next time president Bush claims to be doing everything he can to protect us from another 9/11 I'm going to throw up.

Gotcha! Thanks.

In other words,no more "melting pot". What a quaint, old fashioned idea that seems to be right now.

This country is going to hell!

The average life of a government throughout history is only 260 years and they all fail. The three main causes of failure are power, money, and religion.

"And you know, if it comes down to the fact that a radiological device or a chemical or biological device is put in here by al-Qaida, and it's traced back to Monterrey, Mexico, or Mexico City, it will be impeachment.

This deserves repetition. The statement is absolutely correct. George W. Bush will not Execute the laws of the land regarding Illegal Immigration, which he has taken an oath to enforce (Was this on a Bible? Did he swear to God?) and for this reason someone in the Senate should bring up the issue of impeachment NOW. (I am a Bush supporter).

"5 year moratorium on both legal and illegal immigration."
Second the motion.

Thank you for posting this. See nothing to argue with here and I believe most Americans are incredulous that this president is so unbelievably clueless on this issue

He is wrong for so many dangerous reasons it's almost traitorous.

And I went to rallies, saw him and Arnold, Hannity, Zell Miller etc.

Feel profoundly deceived and disappointed in our "guy".

But then, I guess we knew where he stood on this issue, and it wasn't with America!

I agree fully. So who *do* we vote for? I considered the Constitution Party
last time around, but I live in a state that produced a presidential candidate
last year, and I of course didn't want to loose him as a senator (not the one
with the salty buick - the other one) so I voted for W. I don't want to bust on
W always, but at some point I want someone more conservative, less 'compassionate.'

"Yes...that type of society is the democrats dream world. They will use it to build their socialist power base...never to be challenged again for power."

I don't know who is more confused here, you or me. 1. This thread is about GWB and his apparent ignorance of the Immigration problem. 2. Are you saying that GWB is working for a Democrat dream world? To build their powerbase?

Geez. A little effort would have provided you with this:

Nine years ago, Steve Lonegan and his Republican team ended years of Democrat rule in Bogota. Taxes were skyrocketing. Town debt was out of control and spending was going through the roof. Today, spending has remained constant since 1995, debt has been reduced and municipal taxes stabilized and kept far below inflation. None of the other 565 Mayors in New Jersey can boast of such a record.

"Actually my views aren't liberal. They are more to being sanity to an immigration system that has been out of whack for 40 years."

A failure to enforce Immigration code does NOT mean the code is flawed, but it is the persons in charge of enforcement who are failures. Your willingness to wipe the slate clean for millions who've disregarded and made a mockery of explicit law is nothing short of LIBERAL. Period.

" So who *do* we vote for?"

I don't know at this point in time, but this Bush is not on the next ticket- and I don't know who will be, or even who I want. I do like Cornyn (ACU 100). By the way, FixitGuy should get Response of the night- He caught my feelings exactly. (Post 49).

Also tancredo is a backstabber to Tom Delay, with his saying Delay should step aside, all for the glow of the liberal media cameras.

Congratulations! With your post #11, you have now mentioned how "Tancredo backstabbed DeLay" in 100 different posts on FR. I would imagine it will reach 150 times by sometime this weekend.

"This is all about money."

You got that right. Businesses want cheap labor and American labor is "too expensive". Politicians wont touch this in any meaningful way because the lobbyists for these businesses and their fistfulls of cash are telling them not to. The President understands this and is playing along because "what's good for business is good for America." While our borders are all but ignored, our "defense" dollars are going to the Middle East, defending what I'm not sure. All I know is alot of "defense" contractors are getting rich from money out of our pockets while the invasion across our borders continues.
