There is an internet vandal who defaces Free Republic with very gross pictures (homosexual sex and stuff from rotton.com) as well as posting "ALL YOU F***** N*****S & JEWS SHOULD BE LYNCHED".
He pings a variety of people to his post, ensuring that the trash is still in their My Posts lists.
To me, this isn't the milder form of harassment that Eschoir engaged in so many years ago. The very worst he would do is ask if you ever committed sodomy, and he once used the screen name "Paula Jones Tw*t". This is mild.
What this sick piece of work is doing is much more egregious. I believe it crosses the line into criminal defacement and restraint of trade. Are there any Free Republic lawyers (especially prosecutors) who can address this issue, and are there any private detectives with internet savvy that will help track the identity of this person down?
Defacing a website is a criminal offense. I hope JR pursues this all the way.

This one picture, I don't think I will ever get out of my head - I've already prayed to God for him to remove it from my memory. It is the worst thing. Satan is busy today. Why don't they remove it? If I have to be afraid of seeing stuff like that on my computer, I'll have to stop coming to Free Republic. Why don't they take it off already????
Not to mention the fact that he's pinging threats (Jews and N*****rs should be lynched) to specific FReepers.
Most anti-hacking statutes should cover this - defacement of websites, as the "script kiddies" do is illegal.

It doesn't come in e-mail (thankfully). It comes here via my inbox. Usually most don't see it because it gets nuked, but this SOB always includes me (and rdb3 & cyborg & trueblackman & several others) on his list of addressees for each iteration, so our inbox is filled with 'em until they scroll off the bottom of the queue.
After umpteen times, I'm just fed up.
There has to be a way to track this SOB.

No. Civil suits are far too costly. It cost many thousands of dollars to sue Eschoir into leaving.
Here is a place where the State should and could bear the brunt of the cost. We pay taxes; let us use them to identify, prosecute, and jail this individual.
