Marist College has some new polling data on possible 2008 presidential race match-ups:
Not surprisingly, Hillary Clinton leads the Democratic field with 40 percent support. John Kerry comes in second, with 18 percent, followed by John Edwards with 16 percent.
Rudy Giuliani leads the GOP pack with 27 percent of polled Republicans backing him. John McCain places second with 20 percent and Jeb Bush taking in 10 percent. Marist says their data shows Giulianis approval numbers steadily climbing since the Bernard Kerik scandal last December. 71 percent of Republicans would at least like to see him run.
However, Marist has some interesting party match-up numbers. Though more Republicans support Giuliani, John McCain plays stronger with the general electorate. McCain comes out ahead of both Clinton and Kerry in possible electoral showdowns. However, the Democrat who fares best against the Republicans is John Edwards.
Edwards comes out 3 points ahead of Giuliani and 3 behind McCain. Clinton would lose to both Giuliani and McCain.
Marist polled 1,007 voters. 838 of the respondents are registered voters, including 376 Democrats and 352 Republicans.
I'll never forget how the MSM applauded Kerry for taking Edwards. Now these same folks rip Edwards as a lousy VP choice.
The day after and they have been in the election mode since.
Edwards would be a dream candidate for the GOP. He's the ultimate lightweight politician. There was no danger at all of him upstaging Kerry in 2004.
I'm hoping that eventually, people inclined to support her now will realize how shallow she really is; - that she doesn't do well extemporaneously; - that she always needs a set piece interview with pre-arranged questions; - that she can't stand up to hardball questions (unless they're disguised as "hardball" by Chrissy Matthews); - that she has enough baggage to build another Mt. Everest; - and that we Republicans have not yet begun to fight. Once all of the hidden skeletons are out into the open, she could well be toast before the shredding exercise of endless Democrat primary events and debates even take place.
Also, there could be a miracle and someone yet unannounced could defeat her in NY for her Senate seat, which wouldn't be such a hot addition to her CV/résumé!
>>>Hillary is really only a celebrity because she is a celebrity, somewhat like Paris Hilton.<<<<<<
Hillary may be a celebrity but she isnt like Paris Hilton.
1. Paris isnt ugly.
2, paris makes love to men and she doesnt car about it being photographed. Who knows what Hillary makes love to? Probably a rubber doll of herself.
3. Paris hasnt got the brains of a nanny Goat. Hillary has brains even if they are of a dark nature.
Paris has ankles, Hillary has Cankles.
And the funny thing is is that both Ruddy and McLame would govern to the left of Hillary. No Rinos please.
If it's a choice between McCain and Guiliani, I'm for Guiliani.
Not in a million years. Ever heard of HillaryCare? Waco? Elian? Remember, it's the co-presidency. Everyh thing the POSOTUS do is a joint venture of the
Hildeb!tch. Those two are left of the dial. The only one lefter is Jean Fraud ?Commie. I'll take a McCain or Guiliani long before I take a Hillary.
"If McCain beats Hillary, it's without my vote. Probably the same case with Rudy too".
Ditto! I could not vote for either of these turkeys.
If McCain or Julie-Annie gets the GOP nomination I'll vote Constitution Party again. The only chance the GOP has of getting my vote at this point is if George Allen is nominated.

I think Allen is the smartest choice to get a Republican elected - but the primaries are so much about organization and spin - who knows what will happen. I like McCain but he just not as electable.
From the "world's smartest woman" no less.
However shrillary has a lock on the HEAD BOBBING set
and is a real mean ash tray hurler.
What do you like about McCain? His calling the Swift Boat Veterans "dishonest and dishonorable"....or his support of the democrat gun-control agenda? Did you also like his unConstitutional attack on our 1st Amendment Right to free speech that he co-sponsored with the democrat FeinGold?
I was quoting Sonny M.
And I don't agree with that either if you see the rest of my post. The DUmmies think they are the Democratic base. They aren't. Minorities are and they love the Clintons.
And as for enraging the opposition, if she can convince Joe Sixpack that she respects people of faith, then Joe Sixpack will stop to listen if she talks about jobs or illegal immigration or trade or outsourcing. Never forget that Christian conservatives are ex-Joe Sixpack New Deal Democrats who will listen to an appeal based on economic populism but not from some sodomite-worshipping latte liberal.
I was never able to warm up to John McCain, but when he turned against the Swift Boat Vets, that did it for me. It seemed dishonest to me, because he simply has to know that the Swifties are 100% correct in all that they have revealed about John False Kerry. McCain knows that it's true. That makes his betrayal of John O'Neill and the entire group, all the more dastardly, in my opinion.
I say that I could never vote for McCain, but then again, if he becomes the nominee (which I seriously doubt he can achieve), and the other choice is Killery, I guess I'd have to hold my nose and vote for McCain. I really can't imagine myself doing it, though.
DeLay/Tancredo 08!!
Guiliani is a horrible, pro-immigration candidate. Nominate him and face certain defeat in 2008. McCain? He's a nut case. He toy'd with the idea of running with Kerry as his running mate. McCain has also done nothing about his state being overrun by illegals.
Lol....I doubt DeLay would choose Tancredo for a running mate. I would vote for either of those men for president.
