Ohfercryinoutloud.

There's a lot of bluebloods that must just rue the day they let the commoners in on the derby.

Isn't that just sad? Not only can't they come up with a decent way to behave, or an original thought, but they have to drag some other cruddy tradition with them for good measure.

Put everything you have on the favorite in the Derby and you'll get a quick education...:-)

There are some amazing hat pictures I've got from the Central Park Conservatory gala on Thursday to show if the Associated Press wires get slow.

Not to worry, for the next four hours its all about the hats like Ascot!

I will worry about the race about an hour before post time.

Great looking thread!!!

I never bet favorites, but Bellamy Road looks very tough.

My second choice is Afleet Alex.

Although when I used to go to the track sometimes seeing the horses parade out can make a big difference in how you decide to place your bet.

I'll go with my favorite jockey - Kent Desormeaux - and Greeley's Galaxy.

Wow, you're right!

In an article I just saw a list of expected big egos:

Jai Rodriguez (Queer Eye)
Mark Moses (Paul Young on Desperate Housewives)
Andrew Firestone (from the third season of The Bachelor)
Ruben Studdard (American Idol)
Will Sasso (ABC's Less Than Perfect)
Motown legend Smokey Robinson
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Tom Brady, Patriots quarterback
John Castellanos (The Young and the Restless)
Dan Wells (Days of Our Lives)
Steven Culp (Desperate Housewives)
Michael Jordan
Jamie Foxx
Chubby Checker

also expected tonight are three Triple Crown jockeys: Ron Turcotte (Secretariat, 1973), Jean Cruguet (Seattle Slew, 1977) and Steve Cauthen (Affirmed,1978).

Absolutely. IMHO, winning is perhaps half physical, half mental. You can tell who's on his game, slept well and feels good when they come out of the paddock. :~D

I think it's just the American way these days. Girls lifting their tops is so common, people don't think of it as bad any more.
