MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.
Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.
"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."
Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.
She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.
The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible

I value the free flow of ideas and information, that's a big reason I'm here, and don't want to silence anyone, but I was totally turned off by the terri wars. All heat and no light. I hope we don't have a recurrence. That's all.

Agree. Can't believe America was so divided over it.
I'm afraid there were two things at least that clouded the controversy....
- the fact that many have had to make decisions about loved ones and therefore jumped to the conclusion that the Terri-supporters were saying they were wrong. Which, in reality, was not the case at all. Terri was not in a dying state whereas most such decisions are of relatives that are in a dying state or at the end of a killer disease and decisions were made to not prolong the inevitable.
- the states vs. federal aspects. Many felt that no matter what - the federal government should stay out of it. While others did not realize the difference other than a woman's constitutional rights were being abused.
But did the doctors at the hospital know what they were talking about? I didn't write her medical reports.
What laws?

Maybe. But the two men with the most power to save Terri's life via rescue (Jeb and GW Bush) were the biggest "step doggers" in the whole sorry affair!
Ultimately, the two men you name were the ONLY ones with the power to step in and fulfill their sworn duty to protect the well-being of one of their weakest and most helpless INNOCENT citizens, Terri Schindler Schiavo.
Sadly, they failed the test, and by inaction handed the power of the executive branch over to the judicial despots.

I fear that most Americans knew that Terri was not "dying" in the traditional sense, but they wanted her to die just the same. This affair illustrates the depravity which has permeated American culture these days. I suspect we can expect more disruptions such as rising energy prices and terrorist attacks. These will be the plague which God inflicts upon America for its wickedness just as He inflicted pestilence and disease upon ancient Egypt for its persecution of His people. In other words, we ain't seen nothin' yet.

The judiciary in the United States is slowly coverting inflict ing a Soviet-style despotism upon our nation. In effect, the judiciary is becoming our "communist party", and other organs of government will be little more than window-dressing--in other words, "Potemkin villages."

The cruel myth of judicial supremecy, perpetrated by its beneficiaries, of course, but also cravenly acceded to by the Legislative and the Executive branches of government, has detroyed the checks and balances that always have been our only hope of preventing the very despotism you describe.

In my book he just as well should have put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. It would have been a lot less painful.
Oh' I forgot, Terri didn't feel any pain so they should have just put her out of her misery like a lame horse.

How convenient Micheal is selective in what court orders to follow.
Carried out for over 10 years. The Supreme Court looked at the case multiple times and each time turned it down. You want the national government to decide who should live and who shouldn't? Scalia couldn't find that right in the Cruzan decision and even warned against giving that power to the national government. Ah, but you statists couldn't give a crap less what conservative judges believe. You don't want conservative judges. You want activist judges that will rule how you feel at the moment on an issue. You care less for the Constitution than the Democrats do if it gets in your way.
