Google News Now Updates to Democratic Underground website as 'news'.
Google News Search ^ | 6 May 2005 | gobucks

Proof that Google is increasingly undergoing preferential linkages to Democrats was discovered this morning. Why is FreeRepublic not linked by Google News, but the "Democratic Underground Website" is? Just curious as to why we don't make 'news', but they do.

If you do a search this morning on Google News on God Darwin Schools, you'll find 'Darwin's Lament', an utterly vapid discourse that is not worth even reading. But I have never seen Google New link to us...

"ust a hunch...but maybe DU submitted their site and Jim hasn't?"

Dunno. I'm pretty sure that Google News will not post anything as 'news' from Free Republic. Jim, does FR have a history of interaction w/ Google?

(BTW, Jim, why not have a Free Republic 'Front Page' that links to select chosen Freepers who are asked to submit articles? I'm not volunteering as I don't write that well, but a few folks here qualify).

There are a BUNCH of different Search Engines:

Google hasn't blocked them from their Search, apparently. :)

Posts like that are why they won't link us to News.

So many times I google something in the news, and I end up getting FreeRepublic. That's true. We are really up there in the google search engine. So I'm not sure what people are talking about.

As I stated above, sometimes I'll google some names in the news and in the top five will always be a FreeRepublic article. Don't believe me? Go to Google and search Chelsea and Web Hubbell.

I wish Jim R. would get us personal "hate meters".

What FR needs is a "twit filters" like Fark or slashdot.

If DU is considered "news," then the liberal slant of the media just increased. Whoda thunk that was even possible?

If there is dirt on a liberal writer or any liberal, the Yahoo search will provide the links.

Excellent point. The more light liberalism gets, the more it withers.

"Excellent point. The more light liberalism gets, the more it withers."

The Gay Activists in the MSM declared war on GW in 2000. After their boy Kerry was defeated, they have gone into overdrive with their hate GW, our military, GW's cabinet and anything connected with GW.

Most of the times when an anti GW lying hit piece appears in the MSM, a simple Yahoo search using the name of the author and Gay reveals a long track record of GW hate articles with a long record of pushing the Gay agenda.

Yahoo is much, much worse. Their articles are so liberally based (off course they would be, as most of their them are as MSM as you get can get from the AP or Reuters). Their message boards draw every kind of perverted sicko and extremist(left, right, apathetics, misanthropes, etc.). Netscape is less patently offensive, even thouogh it heavily markets "fluff-news" but alas their search engine, is powered by Google.

Not to plug gmail, but the point about whether it uses ActiveX or JavaScript is moot. It is one of the only mail services so far that lets you use POP3 for Free, and of course, there is the 1Gig of space if you need it. Once it is set up, You never need to pull up the website at all.
