Amazing, doesn't the army issue it's generals "dog robbers" anymore, you know the ones that are supposed to see to the personal needs of the general.

No one ratted her out the system finally caught up with her.

"The Delta Force Commander wanted the Marine pilots Courts-Martialed."

Which ones? The ones the Air Force said Caused the accident?

They died at their controls.

Are you actually proposing that the Marines don't work for the president?

The only Marines that work directly for the president are The Marine Corps Band, and they are the only marines he can personally command to do anything without the permission of the congress.

Don't yet ... the helicopter pilots that screwed-up were Marines pilots that were unqualified and not properly trained.
The Marines worked their way in because they wanted the Marines represented on the mission.

I flew with those pilots and crews and nothing could be further from the truth. They were some of the best the marines ever had.

The revulsion I have for Karpinski put into words would get me banned from Freepr forever! She has disgraced this country, her President, all honorable military men and women as well as those that gave her the opportunity for females to rise to a position of status.

She showed her lack of honor and integrity when she shoplifted. She sold out her honor and integrity for maybe $50. As they say, " I bought you cheap!" Then to lie again. She sold out again for what she thought was a cushy
reservist gig....That's insulting to all those reservists who take their comittment seriously.

Her lack of integrity showed its ugly face when she didn't just resign after the Abu Grab fiasco....saying the ultimate "Not my job, man!"

Once a cheatin', lying wh..re, always one. ( My apolgies to the fine "working women"!)

Most accounts say the Marines that flew had not flown the RH-53 before the mission and also the Marines were not experienced with NVGs, hence the crash. The Marines were also unfamiliar with the helicopters and one aborted when it could have continued.

I believe it was the ones that aborted and also at Desert One where the Marine pilots said they did not want to continue.

I don't have problems with Marines unless they start wrongfully attacking the Army. Please show me with the incidents I listed where the Marines held their Chain of Command accountable?

I hope Pace does a good job.

Despise Bush? Where did you get that?

Truman did want to abolish the Marines after WWII and then backed down.

World's Finest?

Tell that to your brothers left behind at Koh Tang Island, Beirut, or in the Osperies.

Jealously?

Why?

The Army always has been and always will be much better at fighting.

There are many places in that flow for the incident to have been hushed up or quietly deep-sixed. Had she been Air Force, or had she shoplifted on an Army post, it is highly unlikely she would have escaped discipline.

Check out http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/13/AR2005051300291.html:

A colonel at the time, Karpinski said she removed a bottle of facial cream from her purse, then returned it while rummaging for her cell phone. A security guard believed the bottle belonged to the shop, but store personnel later concluded it was her property and had been "clearly partially used."
[...]
Karpinski said repeated requests under the Freedom of Information Act to learn the basis for the shoplifting allegation were ignored or did not yield any information. Her legal officers were allowed to review the Army inspector general's files for documentation, but "there was nothing to substantiate" the allegations.
Don't get me wrong--I think that she needs to be booted right out of the service...I don't think she's officer material at all, with her finger pointing and whining...but I also don't want to see unfar accusations made. I've seen enough misunderstandings to know they aren't all guilt.

What's funny is that I assumed that the headline (in the story I just posted from) was regarding the captain who was recently disciplined. My initial thought was "a captain should know better than to act that way..." -- only to find it was a supposed COLONEL! Sheesh...she needs to be booted right now.
