On a day of carnage, it was an intimate image: a soldier clutching a child in his arms.
When Amy Bieger, mother of three boys, wife of an infantryman in Iraq, saw the picture on the Internet on Tuesday night, she stared at the little feet dangling in the nook of the man's arm, at the soldier's helmeted head pressed to the child's face. She stared and tears welled up.
"I said 'Oh my God, it is one of our soldiers,'" Bieger, 34, said yesterday from her home outside the Fort Lewis, Wash., Army post. "Then I stared at the [name] patch. I made out the rank and then the last four letters of the name and I knew it was my husband."

The religion has been highjacked by the extremists...
No. Your MIND has been hi-jacked by Islamist zealots fronting soft-pedalled Westernized Islamic motifs to lure you into repeatedly mouthing their propaganda.
After the Jews and Christians politely refused Mohammed's offer to unite with him and form one great and peaceful world religion, he became increasingly bitter and violent. The latter Q'ranic writings reflect this descent into bloodlust.
I have posted this elsewhere, and I'll repeat it here:
With complete absence of malice, it is my considered conjecture that the Antichrist of the Bible will turn out to be a Muslim raised in strict Islamic orthodoxy.
Nowhere else have I seen such arrogance, self-delusion, powermadness, berserk fanaticism and thirst for the blood and gore of women and children as among the ranks of the Islamists. Of all nations, tongues and tribes on Earth, only they have repeatedly proven themselves determined to inflict massive atrocities on an Apocalyptic scale, without a shred of basic compassion for even the most innocent upon the Earth. Our only deliverance, thus far, has been that they lack a strong global organizational infrastructure and a single unifying leader. But for these things, their carnage would overshadow Hitler and Stalin, and perhaps even snatch the blood-crown from Chairman Mao.
So much for the "Religion of Peace".

Very nice, thanks for posting those.
Remember the pic of the soldier sitting in the sand, comforting the little child? I think that was fairly early on after major operations.

It is so deeply sad. Poor innocent child. And our soldier, imagine the pain in his heart...
The terrorists are beyond the pale, thinking nothing of killing children.

I received the photo by e-mail yesterday and saw nothing of it on MSM last night. In fact, NBC nightly news was having an anti-U.S. military bashfest.

Very well said, my friend.
God bless America and our service men and women who risk their lives and who have given their lives for our freedom.

This picture was on a DU thread yesterday.
Amazingly, the DUmmies didn't trash the soldier, but every one of the morons blamed this child's death on George Bush. One DUmmy claimed it was more likely the kid was killed by American fire than the terrorists, but he stopped short of blaming this beautiful brave man holding the dying child.
How many of the dying Beslan children were comforted by Chechan Islamic rebels, after their compatriots committed the atrocities at the school and afterward? There is no army in the world who can hold a candle to the bravest, most honorable, and most compassionate military in the world--the US Armed Forces. Fierce when called upon, tender when needed.
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines: I love you guys, every last one of you. This picture should be in every newspaper, magazine, and on every tv news station in America. We know how wonderful you are. May God bless and keep you.

I'd love to do something! I've been out all day and haven't been able to catch up at FR, but presume you're talking about the soldier with the poor baby. I'm not sure, however, what you've discussed.
Can you fill me in a little? I'm still running, just at home now. What a shopping trip that was! Now we need to eat!
