On a day of carnage, it was an intimate image: a soldier clutching a child in his arms.
When Amy Bieger, mother of three boys, wife of an infantryman in Iraq, saw the picture on the Internet on Tuesday night, she stared at the little feet dangling in the nook of the man's arm, at the soldier's helmeted head pressed to the child's face. She stared and tears welled up.
"I said 'Oh my God, it is one of our soldiers,'" Bieger, 34, said yesterday from her home outside the Fort Lewis, Wash., Army post. "Then I stared at the [name] patch. I made out the rank and then the last four letters of the name and I knew it was my husband."

Oh no it hasn't. The "extremists" are following the cult as it is written.
but the Islamics HIDE behind women and children.. as camoflage.. and some even target them on purpose.. their OWN children even..
Islam is and always was a sink-hole of humanity..
Sending a soldier to combat islamics without an educated comparasion between Western values and Islamic values is a travesty.. The gulf is huge between them.. and is just asking for post war pychological problems in our own soldiers.. Islam itself drags humanity down to the lowest common denominator.. the Muslims first and any others that deal with it..
The ignorance of what Islam "IS" by the west is great.. It is NOT a religion in the western sense.. its not even a cult.. it is literally a GANG..
Muslims faceing the <-sillyness of Islam, face challengeing their cultures and face being rejected by their familys, friends, and in some cases face death at the hands of those very same people....
Apostasy(leaving Islam) is punishable by death. Mohammed said, "Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him." Surah Vol. 9:57
Islam has a strong murderological base... ACT LIKE YOU BELIEVE IT OR DIE!...
The whole world is seeing them being murdered. I have no issue with it being done out in the open, however, requiring smaller groups to gather would make more sense. Being cognizant of security would make sense.
Amen. Well said.
It was featured last night on one of the network news broadcasts.
This thread may be winding up as all do. But just in case some are still viewing it, and are not familiar with the writings of Ibn Ishaq, here is a starter site:

This reminds me of the following bit of history:
When U.S. Marine Harlon Block's (the man on the right, who died hours later in a mortar blast) mother Belle saw the Flag Raising Photo in the Weslaco Newspaper on Feb. 25, she exclaimed, "That's Harlon" pointing to the figure on the far right. But the US Government mis-identified the figure as Harry Hansen of Boston. Belle never wavered in her belief that it was Harlon insisting, "I know my boy." No one--not her family, neighbors, the Government or the public--had any reason to believe her. But eighteen months later in a sensational front-page story, a Congressional investigation revealed that it was Harlon in the photo, proving that indeed, Belle did "know her boy."
And the thing is this is one of hundreds of stories... Daily our troops show their respect & love of the people there
thanks for thread Pokey & for ping Calpernia
Story picked up by Fox. Maybe the soldier will agree to an interview. The reporter who took the picture says he's more of a writer than a photographer, but did take the picture. He says he's seen this soldier do some amazing things.
wonderful pictures.. and love the scripture. I do many power points for church & want to do something similar for Memorial day time frame.. lots of pix of our troops in this light..
thus far I have not used anything from the internet as I think (not sure) the files are too small to be good for the large resolution on huge screens with pix projected.
thanks
Oh! Calpernia! Thank you for posting those pictures! My heart just swells with pride to see the love and compassion of our men in uniform! They truly do represent what is right and good in our country. They are our Christs love in practice!
I have heard about this picture for days and have just now seen it for the first time. I cannot help but sit here and cry as my kids play and bicker around me. We are so blessed, and it's because of soldiers like these.
Anyone know Luz C. Cintrón's freeper nick? He is the talent behind the photo shopping on those soldiers. I would love to see what he could do with this soldier's picture.
I'll bet Lady Jag could do a bang up job on it, too. She's amazing.
