Students at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School at Gallaudet University had used e-mail and a school Web log to get first-hand accounts of the insurgency in Iraq and the daily survival of a U.S. Marine stationed there.

Yesterday, the 42 students met their personal link for the first time.

Eeek! Never liked spiders much. :-)

Never liked the stories of banana spiders in Panama, even though they're harmless... it's not something I want in my sleepin' bag.

Very nice story. I liked how the teacher brought it up to the kids/

Now, about that camel spider, whether 5" or 12" or whatever, wouldn't want to see one!

Might be fun to run over with a Hummer though. Ought to make a real loud cracking sound refore the squishing sound.

Eeeew, but I'll bet you're right! I just don't like spiders at all!

Other than that, this was a great article.

"But to have a young man come up and give me a hug who has a hearing impediment and may not get the chances I have, and have him thank me for what I'm doing -- wow!"

Wow, indeed.

What a terrific story -- thank you for posting it.
