Stop Cloning and Embryo Research in NEW YORK STATE (e-mail)

Posted on 05/04/2005 5:48:19 PM PDT by Sun

I received this e-mail from NYSCatholicConference.org:

Stop Cloning and Embryo Research Contact Your Assembly Representative Now

On Tuesday, May 3, 2005 the New York State Assembly Health Committee voted in favor of releasing dangerous legislation (A.6300)that would promote human cloning for the purpose of conducting medical experiments on living human embryos. This means that the full Assembly can vote on this issue in the very near future. Please urge your Assembly representative to oppose this bill. Embryonic stem cell research depends on human cloning and is a radical assault on human life! Take action now.

"I have noticed when talking to people on the "liberal" secular humanist side of such issues that they seem incredibly insensitive and jaded almost like they are possessed or under the grip of some evil force."

Maybe some of them are simply lacking in wisdom, which is why folks who have time should write letters to editors explaining the ABC's of ESC and ASC.

I'm also going to write a letter to the editor about Hillary Clinton, as I just heard she's doing very well in the newest poll. This is another case where voters are lacking in wisdom. :)

"Unfortunately, my local reps -- Sen. Saland and Assm. Miller -- are two the biggest RINO's in the State Legislature...."

Please call them anyway. They still want your vote.

Western NY - let's say Erie, Niagara, Catarraugus, Chatauqua...If you are only 50 miles from Albany, I know there is an active chapter (headquarters) there.

If you're expecting a 'new generation' to become aghast, think about how the abortion holocaust has unfolded. From 'abortion for an endangered woman' to partial birth infanticide, in less than thirty years. Next on the looming horizon is cloning for body parts/tissues, with the accompanying abortion of living cloned beings as therapeutic cloning, not reproductive cloning.

This may sound frightening for some people but expect things to get MUCH WORSE. The church, which traditionally was the political power which checked such things, has been weakened and is likely to get weaker. Look, they are putting human genes in botanical crops now like rice. Frankenfoods. Does Soylent Green ring any bells? It would not be surprising if they figure out a way to grow fetal protein in labs for consumption as a health diet fad. Ready for the "modest proposal"? That USED to be just a sick joke.

Without a Christian/moral component in education, the moral decline of our society will continue with horrific and grotesque consequences. This is liberal secular humanist social engineering out of control. They are going to blame Christians for trying to prevent Parkinson's and Alzheimer's patients from being "cured" by stem cells treatment. The scapegoating of Christians has already begun.

This may sound frightening for some people but expect things to get MUCH WORSE. The church, which traditionally was the political power which checked such things ... The Church has been powerful in America not by directly ruling on social issues but by teaching the way that the individual should go, much as we are called to raise up our children in the way that they should go. In this 'modern era', the Church has shrunken from this duty to teach the way, the truth, and the Light, thus the individual is blown to and fro by the winds of secularism. When a church doesn't speak out against the abomination of homosexuality or the heinous infanticide of partial birth serial killing, the people do not know which way to turn and follow the breezes of utilitarian and convenient.

Additionally, consider that the democrap party has been inveigling the black community for deacdes with the democrat slide into secularism. AND it has been quite effective in keeping black people subseviant to the party rather than obedient to God ... abortion is a big event in the black community, too big.

Well, if they ever start putting "food" on the shelves modified genetically with human genes, I'm out of here.
The thought of human embryos being bred and slaughtered for parts in medical research should make a normal person feel like they might throw up. That it doesn't seem to bother a lot of people is very troubling. But we were warned about the slippery slope back when Roe vs. Wade passed. People are being systematically desensitized as part of a large social engineering project to distance people from Christian morality. It's tragic and very sad. But it appears to be getting worse rather than showing signs of being reversed.

Yes, I have been in contact a number of times with the Albany group.

Good luck with western NY, and please tell your pro-life friends to contact their assemblypersons to stop this cloning/ESC madness in NYS.

"Look, they are putting human genes in botanical crops now like rice. Frankenfoods. Does Soylent Green ring any bells?"

I first heard about that on the Rolleye James talk radio show. Do you happen to know which companies are doing this, or should we just avoid rice?

Organic foods are not genetically engineered.

I have the link somewhere. If I remember correctly a human gene had been engineered into rice to create a liver enzyme. Or something like that. Obviously taking that rice out of the kosher category.

Organic and kosher foods might be the way to go.

If you can easily find the link, I'd like to see it.

What I don't like about the genetic modification is that they are doing it in such a way that a person can end up eating one of the Frankenfoods without being told or warned ahead of time. They also do not know what the ultimate consequences of tinkering with genetic codes will be.

GM industry puts human gene into rice
By Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor
24 April 2005

Scientists have begun putting genes from human beings into food crops in a dramatic extension of genetic modification. The move, which is causing disgust and revulsion among critics, is bound to strengthen accusations that GM technology is creating "Frankenstein foods" and drive the controversy surrounding it to new heights.

Thanks for that link.

They should tell the consumer whether or not a food is genetically modified, even if it's not Frankenfood. A person should have the right to make their own choices.

Well, in any dining out adventure, you really wouldn't know.
The other thing is if animal feed is genetically modified, it all becomes part of the food chain. This may sound absurd but it would not be beyond the imaginable that they will make genetically modified corn and grains with human genes in them and then feed that to animals.

I don't think it is absurd at all.

When eating home, go organic and kosher.

Too many folks have been duped into this pie-in-the sky "promise" regarding Embryonic stem cells, when Adult stem cells have already helped countless of people from diabetis to Alzheimer's. Why haven't we heard about these cures in MSM?

There has not even been one cure from Embryo stem cells.

That's why investors are investing in Adult stem cells and NOT Embryo stem cells.

So, in turn, that's why the Frankenstein scientists want OUR tax dollars, because they can't get investors to invest.

Read about some of the NUMEROUS cures for Adult stem cells at this link:
