Most of Mrs. Bush's humor at the correspondents' dinner was just right: Edgy but not over the edge. But I think the stripper and horse jokes were totally beneath her.
Just put it to the other-shoe test: If it were Teresa Heinz Kerry standing up on the dais telling the same jokes, the conservative commentariat would be buzzing for the rest of the year about what a tasteless skank she is.

I don't know Howlin but obviously she's got more sense than you do.

lol!~ I get that ALL the time!~
My hammerhead buddies wives always tell them ' make sure he doesn't start with the fascist talk ' before any dinner party, get together, fund raiser - you name it.

Not the right in general. There is a section of the right-the extreme right-that has become absolutely ridiculous. And they're exactly the kind of person that I get trashed about any time I mention to one of my entirely liberal family members that I'm a Republican.

There is a section of the right-the extreme right-that has become absolutely ridiculous Are these the ones who are going to "hijack" FR? LOL. Paranoia and overreaction, like I said before. Malkin doesn't deserve this treatment, just because she and many others on the right (not necessarily the far-right either) didn't like all of Laura's statments.
To: what's up
If you had seen the posts that I've seen, you would realize that something is happening on FR. I've seen more removed posts over the last few days than I've seen in the entire total time that I'd been here before that.

This is one of those stories that grows its legs slowly. Be honest. You really mean you will attempt to manufacture fury where none should be.
We will hear more from the Christian press, and from conservative bloggers and columnists who do not like to see an unholy alliance forming between the Bushies and the Clintonistas.
Is that what this is really about on your part then? I have been wondering what is driving this because it certainly is not Laura Bush's comments. If you or anyone cannot tolerate Christian outreach to souls that clearly could benefit and need seek vengence because they haven't condemned their souls to hell that is very sad.

If you had seen the posts that I've seen, you would realize that something is happening on FR Fine. But that doesn't mean FR is being "hijacked". Absurd. And the trashing of a solid conservative like Malkin certainly doesn't help the cause, that is for sure.
To: Palladin
Couldn't she have been funny WITHOUT the Hollywood-type sexual innuendo? Hey Palladin, you've never made a post at FreeRepublic using sexual innuendo?
Why don't you tell me what pu$$ywhipped means. Sounds like sexual innuendo. Here's a link to you posting, using sexual innuendo.

Now I know you are just as lovely as the rest of howlin's female wolfpackLOL...I arrived late to this threat, but glad I made it in time to see that your "gang" has morphed into a "female wolfpack". Do you have a secret handshake or can anyone join?
To: what's up

I "saw" what was written. A comment made by a reactionary that FR was being "hijacked" with Malkin's help. Silly.
To: EveningStar
Now of course, he spends his days clearing brush, cutting trails, taking down trees, or as the girls call it: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. George's answer to any problem at the ranch is to cut it down with the chainsaw. Which I think is why he and Cheney and Rumsfeld get along so well. Thanks for supplying the whole script. I hadn't heard this joke and the other one about Cheney on the TV clips, nor had I heard her lovely tribute to her husband and his family. Taken as a whole, her star turn was a stitch.
To: Soul Seeker
You really mean you will attempt to manufacture fury where none should be. Oh, help; what is the quote about fury? It ends in "signifying nothing."

ROFLMAO........you've been doing it for 500 posts. Wrong again. I never offered a judgment on whether Peach was a good or bad person.
However, what he/she said was way off.
To: FreeReign
Oh, that's nothing; last night he said that everybody in the South doesn't think oral sex is sex anyway!

I'm glad you noticed how funny that comment was too :) Maybe we have a stand-up comic?
