In its upcoming issue, Vanity Fair has done an investigation into the current cause of the kooky left, the case of disgraced White House reporter Jeff Gannon/James Guckert. And reporters David Margolick and Richard Gooding have uncovered...nothing. No White House wrongdoing. No secret plotting or illicit Gannon affairs with White House staffers. No Karl-Rove-master-plan-to-undermine-democracy hijinks. Nothing. "As time passed, Gannon came to seem, to at least some of the [left-wing] bloggers, as more like a freelance zealot than the linchpin of some much larger conspiracy," Margolick and Gooding write. "They now admit that for them Gannon emerged as less a target in and of himself and more of an instrument for venting rage and for building what Gardner and Keeler [two zealous posters on the far-left DailyKos website] have incorporated as 'ePluribus Media,' an Internet-based freelance investigative unit." The investigating is far more important than the venting, because Gardner, Keeler and others are the Left's pajamahadeen, smart and highly motivated, even if they had nothing of significance to probe in the Gannon matter.
DailyKOS and DU will just say Vanity Fair is owned by Republicans and under the direct control of Rove/CIA/BushCo./VRWC.
DU will launch a 2 Hours Hate against the new Enemies of the State, David Margolick and Richard Gooding.
I've never been to DU, so it actually could be called 2 Hours Hate, but didnt Orwell call it "two minutes", not 2 hours?
No, it is a "2 Minutes Hate". DU doesn't actually have such a thing, but their comments against those they see as traitors (and there are many) reminds me of Orwell.
Perhaps, but understand this: for DUers, it would be quite a concession to limit their hate to 2 hours.
They are obviously LOUSY FREEPER TROLLS!!!
"Gannongate" is an absurd excuse for a scandal. If President Bush wanted to give "Jeff Gannon" an exclusive interview - never mind a chance to ask a question alongside other private citizens - what is that to those other private citizens? Most of all, what is that to members of Congress?!But there is of course an understandable reason for the fury. At one and the same time those private citizens fancy themselves to be put-upon underdogs struggling against the Establishment, on the one hand, and the very embodiment of the Establishment and thus authorized to say who can be a member of their club and who cannot, on the other.
And the reason that Democratic members of Congress carry water for the journalists is also transparent: Democrats accept unconditionally that journalism is - and ought to be - the Establishment.. In all circumstances, if a journalist says "Jump!" Democratic politicians answer in chorus, "How high?!"
some could say the same for some freepers towards members of DU, from what I've read on here.
That's just what Karl Rove wants them to think.
All part of his master plan.
Karl Rove's greatest trick is convincing people that he really doesn't exist.
Correct.
And only then, will those people fear him.
As I said from the beginning of this "scandal", the leftist bloggers that were going after Gannon with such zeal were fools, because what they should have said was, "I can't believe one of our own (a blogger) got ousted from the mainstream press corp simply because of some indiscretions in his past". They should have supported him as "one of their own", in an effort to bring down (what they percieve) as the "vast right wing media machine". (the mainstream press)
But noooo.
Simply because he wrote some conservative articles lambasting John Kerry before the election, they couldn't let their partisian hatred for him go, and thus, the leftist bloggers put politics over what they claim is their ultimate goal: To be accepted as reporters and news agencies as much as the mainstream press.
All their talk along those lines, and when it comes to actually getting "one of their own" (a blogger) in the White House Press Room, it becomes more important to bring a conservative one down, than actually achieving their "noble goal of equality".
What a bunch of hypocrites.
bump
Karl Rove owns Vanity Fair! DUmmies send your donations to Bev for a full investigation! LOL!
Maybe something to keep your eyes on when trolling at DU.
gotta put on my glasses.....I glanced at this header and read "leftists' favorite sandal".
figured it was all about birkenstocks.
Karl Rove is never too busy to rock the cradle of a sleeping saint.
