Well, we are getting ready for the 2005 ballooning season and I needed a newer car. My flagged out Cavalier went to Race Bannon, and my son is off to Russia for a month and won't be around much this summer so we sold his flagged out MR-2 to our mailman's son. I was carless. We picked up a Grand Am on eBay and have just finished painting it. I wanted my fellow FReepers to have a look. It is our best paint job yet!

Of course! We spend most of the time comparing travel and home renovation stories anyway. Any plans yet for you to be down here around the space shuttle launch (latest tentative schedule July).

Hmm, I can tell you that the HarborFest in Norfolk is coming up, but I wouldn't know where to find a sponsor. There's also the Pungo Strawberry Festival, maybe the City of VA Beach could do something for you....

It's a God Bless America car! Excellent work, abner!

We talked about coming down but decided we just can't afford it unless someone brings us in. It would be cool, but I wouldn't want to make the real one look tiny... :-)

That's great.
Does it actually have 50 stars and 13 stripes? Or would that be impossible and WAY too much to ask?
It really does look super!

LOL! It technically is only draped so only a portion is showing. There are about 25 or so stars... and 4 or 5 stripes.

LOL! We like it too. All of the vehicles have been a little different. The MR-2 had reflective stars and almost 50 of them. I got carried away and the stars were smaller. The Cavalier had the 'mist' on it that people either loved or hated. It had bigger stars and they were in the paint and not applied vinyl. This new one has them in the paint also and much larger stars... This one is my favorite so far.

We'll have to get together with Race here in CT soon so we can see it. I think I remember seeing you and VOC in this car once. Outside CPAC 2003?
Just checked out your US Flag Balloon - Events site. I'm hoping we can make one of those events, preferably the one in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine. Would love to see America One and Patriot - up in the air this time, of course!* ;-D
*as opposed to the time we saw you in Goshen, CT when ballons were grounded. Still had a great time, though!

LOL! Yea, it was WINDY! The Maine event is one of the most fun events we do. The people are fantastic! This year, the cars and truck are supposed to lead the parade. You should come. We'll have loads of fun!
