To follow is a very troubling e-mail that I just received from one of Captain Mike's men:
My dear friends,
I forgot to duck. By the time most of us read this I will be on my way to Germany for treatment. The doctors have decided that I'm too severely injured to continue my job. I don't know when I be back stateside but I will let you know.

This message was dictated to me before the captain lost consciousness. I'm not a doctor so I can't tell you his condition. I can tell you that he did it right and saved the lives of several men in the vicinity. The unit sends its sympathies to his friends and family.
Personally, I found him to be the finest officer that I have ever known and am honored to serve under him. Again, you all have our thanks and our sympathies.

Ron Dog got the message from one of his comrades --- CLICK.Apparently, Captain Mike gave his e-mail password to LT Owen, as he was too injured to write...
...but he wanted to let his friends know what has happened to him.I assume that he gave his FR password to LT Owens as well.
I checked the timestamps, and the FR thread by "Socomofficer" was posted within half an hour of the e-mail to me.This is NOT a hoax, imho - although the recent thread by Socomofficer may have been posted by one of his men.
And, while it is theoretically possible that Capt. Mike Pierce is not who I think he is, i.e. US Army Special Forces...
...I have SEVERAL friends that have known him from MANY pro-Bush events in Santa Monica -- over a period of SEVERAL MONTHS -- before the Oscar FReep, and before the Sean Hannity event......and they all vouch for him, too.

Yes, it is the Doug lead that is making me think, it was a freeper with another nick.
Meaning, maybe, strong (passionate) opinions on topics. Then, when reality hit with M.E., wanted unconditional support. So he switched nicks.
Hence the FR connection, hence the lack of posting history.
Just my whacky thoughts.

I'm not trying to bash the freeper. I'm trying to make excuses for my concerns.
So I will refrain from comment here.
That works for me. As I said - I totally give the benefit of the doubt in this situation. I pray that his injuries are not severe and he will recover quickly and completely!
I have more concerns than I did before.
But I will take Star's lead and pray anyway.
Prayers won't hurt anyone. Just lend help to the recipient.
I reread post 84. Gave me more flags than before.
Standing tall regardless.
If the Capt. truly needs some extra prayers, then I join my prayers with the rest for a swift recovery.

He could be a FAKE, but more likely he is simply HUMAN...PERHAPS he has publicly posted and/or e-mailed more than someone in his postion SHOULD have, but I am a pretty good judge of character, and I still trust him to be the "real deal."...and justs prefers the positive personal attention that he gets from pro-USA FReepers......as opposed to the trash talk that he hears from the media, etc.
That may be the reason. I'm leaving it at that.
Prayers from me will go up regardless.

It's all just kinda strange is all.
Prayers up for Capt. Mike. Even if this is somewhat cloudy Capt. Mike could always use our thoughts and prayers.
I can see it now: "I apologize for not writing sooner, as I was promoted to Lt. and then lost consciousness."
