I checked the timestamps, and the FR thread by "Socomofficer" was posted within half an hour of the e-mail to me.This is NOT a hoax, imho - although the recent thread by Socomofficer may have been posted by one of his men.
And, while it is theoretically possible that Capt. Mike Pierce is not who I think he is, i.e. US Army Special Forces...
...I have SEVERAL friends that have known him from MANY pro-Bush events in Santa Monica -- over a period of SEVERAL MONTHS -- before the Oscar FReep, and before the Sean Hannity event......and they all vouch for him, too.
That works for me. As I said - I totally give the benefit of the doubt in this situation. I pray that his injuries are not severe and he will recover quickly and completely!
That is what I had suspected.
Someone posted it for Mike, tried to edit it, could't, and sent it in email form to explain it wasn't Mike.
Not knowing the culture of Free Republic, it seems quite logical to proceed this way in an emergency.
