Sorry, no pictures.
I just returned from California State University at Monterey Bay where the University is hosting Ward Churchill this evening. The Young Republicans on campus held a very nice candlelight vigil, attended by about 50-60 people. Three young ladies read the names of every 9/11 victim to remember them as people, not as the "Little Eichmans" that the left, and Mr Churchill have labled them.
It was a very nice event. That is, as nice as it could be against the backdrop of about 150 of the great unwashed, chanting anti-Bush slogans throughout the reading of each name.
I asked one of the young women from the group that sponsored the event whether or not these fellow students were basically decent to her outside of such a tense environment, like one on one. She said "sometimes". Anyway, I thanked her for what they had done.
Ultimately, it was as I expected. A huge contrast between peoples. I was proud to be on our side, decently honoring our lost Americans. But mostly, I was ashamed for the other side. They truly don't know what idiots they looked like, nor how heartless they sounded. This college conservative group, who number about six or seven from what I could see, outclassed thier classmates by a longshot.
This was my first "Freep" of sorts, and other than arguing with a few aging hippies, I kept to myself. Nontheless, I loved it and I will do it again soon.
We need pictures next time. Way to go Greenpees.
Great after action report of the FReep Greenpees!
BTW, a camera taking many shots of possible anarchists minimizes the token acts of vandalism.
OLA
It looks right to me.
50-60 people is a good turnout!
I'm glad you were there. The report is great.
thanks for representing our side with composure
Yes, standing up for your beliefs can become addictive. Keep up the good work; people are watching, and you're a great role model.
One can only imagine the stench wafting from a hundred and fifty Collaborators....
MORE POWER TO YA, Greenpees!!! (ya gotta quit eatin that asparagas! It'll cure yer disorder)
Good job. Thanks.
They should of worn gas masks being near the unwashed libs.
" against the backdrop of about 150 of the great unwashed, chanting anti-Bush slogans throughout the reading of each name."
it is time to purge America of people like these , the sooner the better
I'd like to be on your ping list.
Great FReep and report! Thanks for your fine efforts.

Congratulations are certainly in order. 50-60 patriots rallying against the scumbag left is fantastic!!!!
I hope you got some media coverage that didn't drastically understate your numbers.
Did they ban cameras and recording devices at this event? At Churchill's last speaking event they banned all devices that had capability to record the proceedings.

In fact, we did. The local news (Fox 35) was gracious. In the end, the segment was quite fair and it certainly made our numbers look impressive.
The only part I didn't like was a comment on it being a "Freedom of speech" argument. It wasn't at all. It was an honorable response to Ward's classification of WTC Victim's as little Eichmans.
I so wanted to tell the staff and students at that college that, under Ward's definition... all of them are Eichmans too, and so are thier parents.

Great! I'm happy to have the press. I hope people recognize what excellent folks these young Republicans are. They certainly displayed an incredible amount of personal integrity and courage.
