Fox's "24" is pulling off the unthinkable this season. No, it's not that it's one-upping previous seasons with an electric blend of nightmare terrorist scenarios and bold twists. It's that it's dispensing with the politically correct evasions that pervade prime time episodic television. "24" identifies the terrorist enemy without flinching and lets the good guys fight to win -- without apologies. In the process, the show is earning a conservative cult following.

No moron, I understand it is FICTION. People enjoy fiction and sometimes wish it was reality. Hope that's not too deep for your superior intellect.

I'm surprised the UN and it's backers haven't protested this yet.
CAIR has been protesting and whining since the first episodes this year. LOL.

24 real? You've got to be kidding. You want realism, watch The Shield. 24 is PURE fatasy. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the show, but real it ain't.

"and I loved the Agency, the hokey CBS show based on the CIA Counter Terrorism Unit......it only lasted a season but the episode where a terrorist infects himself with small pox with plans to infect the US sent several shivers up my spine "
I love CIS Vegas and watch it every week -my Thursday night break. Miami is too late - I'm like W, got to get my rest. CSI New York is too weird -there are images that I don't want want implanted in my brain. So Alias is about as racy as it gets for now, I guess LoL.

Thats the whole point of the show, to make it real to the point of ridiculous, so some don't take it too serious, if you know what I mean."War of the Worlds" named cities and descriptions that was accurate enough to make some commit suicide, There are those out there paranoid enough taking a TV show way to serious and besides if all they showed was real stuff it would have been canceled after the first season.

"Jack Bauer doesn't have to pee or poop, either! This man is more constipated than Gandhi!"When I was a young soldier we used to joke about West Point officers having had "The Operation". (They didn't have to crap in the field.)
Perhaps Jack Bauer is a West Point grad?

For the next show, the men of the CTU will fill out their expense reports and try to get the signatures required for reimbursement.OK, you're in serious trouble, Mister. Revealing National SecretsTM on an open forum is punishable by a stiff fine and compulsory service as a Senator.
LOL. You pegged it.

and you forgot about the mandatory whining about office politics - whining about Goss and Bush et al, wondering who will get fired who won't, grabbing the nicer offices from the guys who get fired, bitching about the agents at another country's agency
To: Myrddin
The main character manages a murder every week. Not very real. She's a friend of the Clintons?

As the whimpering VP, acting President, Richard Nixon look alike cowers in the oval office, openly admitting he is unfit to serve, the trusted presidential right hand man who has already been "taught his lessons" by a previous president offers some sage advise. He advises the VP to allow him to secretly call in the only man in the America with the courage, intelligence and character to stabilize the government and lead the people through this next crisis.
The beloved and secluded former President Palmer.
Former President Palmer of course accepts, but only after he has a chance to mentor the VP.
You must be knowledge of last year's saga to know President Palmer.
