That's a good point. I know the guys I live near hate any kind of flaming gay behavior. They say it makes all of them look bad.
But it is true we do not stigmatize all straight men when stupid fraternity boys date rape women. We can differentiate mature behavior from immature. I hope we can do that with other groups.

It just states some gays thought they were being discrimintated against, quite understandable.
However considerng somewhere between 6-15% of all gays are either HIV positve or have AIDS, I think the 'discrimination' is warrented.
Actually, we stigmatize all Frat Boys. And all Nascar fans. It's a subset, but it's the same thing.

On the general topic, was listening to Bluesville, XM74, earlier this evening, when I heard a black woman blues singer, singing about losing her man, to another *MAN*.
I said "Say what!?", and my wife responds "yeah, I heard that too, and was wondering if I heard it right!"
The whole song was on that theme.
This anecdote just seemed to tie into the thread.
Oh, and this guy isn't on the "down low" at all, and has now moved from STL to ATL. He marches down the sidewalk in front of my wife's office building on Peachtree, in Midtown, fairly often. She has a good view, and sees him twirl by pretty regularly.

Several prominent homosexuals, like Elton John, were so upset by the tactic they actually expressed their regrets personally to people who were infected by blood transfusions and helped raise money for their treatments. One young boy in Ohio comes to mind.
People also started storing their own blood if they needed surgery. If they needed surgery quickly, family members were pressed into service as donors.
My kids and I donated blood for my wife at the behest of her doctor, who was concerned about the blood supply in the Northeast.
For some reason, this is no longer mentioned in the MSM. But no member of my family will ever be subjected to the common blood supply if we can help it.

You honestly believe that if somebody goes to donate blood and lies on the questionaire asking if they're a male who has had sex in the past few years with another male, it's out of ignorance?
Sorry, they're trying to prove a point. And it's more important to them that they "allowed" to do something than it is to ensure the safety of the blood supply.

I remember when gay groups were upset about blood donation policies and they were being encouraged to donate blood and lie. It could have been urban myth.
My oldest son had open heart surgery in 1985. I had surgery for cancer in 1985. We both worried for some time about the quality of the blood supply. Screening for AIDS was just being instituted at the time.
And if some segment of the black community tried to take responsibility and lower its AIDS rates, it/they would probably be accused of "acting white."
It was and remains outrageous, the way this has been politicized and protected; people working with at-risk populations, in juvenile facilities, for example, are told "treat each person as if they were HIV positive, then you don't need to know which ones have it". Probably good advice to assume they all do, but give me a break.
But what does that have to do with the article about black women getting aids. Are you saying they are gay? It appears that your assertion about it spilling into the general population is the problem. Apparently the author is trying to say that black men are sleeping with each other but not appearing as gay and going home to their wifes after prison and encounters. And this will start to affect more than black women because black men are extremely promiscuos with all races of women.
How many women always use a condom with their husbands?
