Posted on 04/30/2005 8:12:40 PM PDT by ryan71

Shortly before the plane touched down at 9 p.m. in Atlanta, a flight attendant handed out a written statement from the Wilbanks family to the media that said: "She has spoken to her fiance. He cannot wait to see her. She says the wedding is not called off, just postponed."

This "bride" is 32 years old? Not some youngster who might be excused for pulling a stunt like this on her wedding eve. The groom needs to 'run like the wind Cisco'.

Great point. I am ready to get back to talking about Elvis sightings, Black Helicopters over the Nevada Desert, whether Jimmy Hoffa is buried in the end zone at the Meadowlands, whether or not Bigfoot REALLY exists, etc. etc......

NO, I think they love each other. She just got bridal jitters and CNN and FOX blew it up. They will get married.

gross mistake...

Personally, I think it would be better for this guy to marry her than anyone else. I think I'd have been able to figure out before now that she was an airhead, anyway. But no guy wants to marry a woman who doesn't want him. That's the question that would be in my mind right now.

Oh boy, this thread will have 1,000 responses by 8:00 AM CDT tomorrow.

This guy and gal should at the very least get some good counseling from someone before they jump into this again. I know that true love can leap all obstacle, but this is a HUGE obstacle.

I would be pissed if I were him. Had she not turned up, his life would have ruined forever. Most likely he wouldn't have been arrested, but Greta would have found him guilty and profiled him every night for a year.

Well, the boy just ain't right hisself.

Look at this from AJC:

The darkness in front of Mason's bungalow had been replaced with the glare of television cameras. Reporters clamored for interviews.

"Is this 'Good Morning America'?" he asked as techs wired him with a microphone. "That's kind of cool."

Agents in an unmarked car got out and walked toward the house. "That's the FBI," Mason said, pointing. "Hey man, y'all know anything else?"

They didn't answer.

"I feel like Tiger Woods," he joked as he waited to go live.

Friends and relatives darted back and forth across the yard embracing each other. Someone had used a marker to add the word "not" in front of "missing" on a large yard sign with Wilbanks' picture.

In front of the cameras, Mason rejected the suggestion that his fiancée could have made up the kidnapping.

"I never thought she got cold feet," he said. "She put too much into this to leave four days before."

At the Fox News tent, Mason turned into a groupie. "When's [Sean] Hannity going to come down to see me?" he asked before gushing when a producer told him soon. "Oh man, that'd be awesome."

He worships her. She is less in love but she needs him. If I were her mother, I would be praying for this wedding. Her parents must be exhausted with her. But he was meant for a girl like this.

To tell you the truth, the running is not in my mind the most insane thing. The most insane thing was to tell the cops she'd been abducted. If I'd been him, I would have thought "she's lying" when she told me that, and I'd have insisted that she not call 911.

The fact that he did not demonstrates that he's no smarter than she is.

Better to say you'll postpone than to say you'll never marry .

Better to "owe" than to cheat someone out of something

They might, but I would run like the wind.

If a girl gets the cops involved before you even tie the knot, it is not a good omen.

You must run very fast, grasshoppper.
