95% of Corrupt Officials in China have mistresses | |||

According to (Apr) 20th issue of The Epoch Times, Wu Chang-zhen(?), an expert in current 'Marriage Law' of China, announced the statistic that 95% of communist party officials, whose corruptions were exposed, had mistresses.
In particular, during the investigation of those involved in 102 corruption scandals in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai in 1,999, 100% of them had mistresses, which was a real shock. Using a pretty woman as a 'bribe' rather than money is becoming a raging fashion, and officials believe that the number of mistresses is the reflection of one's 'clout.' These officials throw money on their mistresses to win their affection. To satisfy endless avarice of the women, they would use their power to conduct their corrupt enterprises in technically legal manner. It becomes a viscious cycle. The mistresses are, for the most part, street-smart, extravagant, and of low character. (In these cases,) The mistresses are willing accomplices to their 'master.'
Shady businessmen say that, to buy officials, a pretty woman is more effective than money. Experts explain that the reason why 'sex transaction' is booming among Chinese officials is because the society mistakes these problems as the matter of morality or private life. There is no proper law in place to punish them. Furthermore, to boost their rating, Chinese medias tend to focus on the sexual escapade between the official and his mistress, instead of their corrupt activities. Experts further elaborate that major enetertainment establishments maintain close contacts with most officials, and corrupt officials are responsible for prostitution outfits moving from underground operation to semi-official one, from individual outfits to huge organized outfits 04/21/05 Daily China - http://dailychina.net |

Ping!
Taking after the US Congress, are they? ;)
Mistresses even predate chinese civilization. The only place it is relatively uncommon is the USA.
I'm sure it was..
No, it's traditional.
Officials have kept concubines for thousands of years.
It's just the Han going back to their "roots".
(Purported) Communists praying in temples.
Anybody else see anything odd here?
Hmmmm...wonder what Voinovich's type is? ;)
95% of CORRUPT officials?
So what's up with the other 5% of corrupt officials? I know... they lied about it.
The ole "second bowl of soup."
Didn't Bill Clinton do some mentoring with some of the Chinese leadership ????
Clinton legacy?
I see work for Bill Clinton.
The most coomon thing for a Taiwanese businesman doing business on the mainland is for him to pick up an "ee tai tai" or a "bao ern nai."
The first is if he marries her (it doesn't matter if he's already married on Taiwan), the 2nd is if he aquires her just for fun.
My Chinese translation is not too good, but thats it phoenetically.
...power of a woman...
I don't know if it's the same in South Korea, but in China..many of the "men" have mistresses.
I can't even count the number of times that I've been wined and dined only to have the companionship of a beautiful young girl offered as part of the evening. When I explain that I'm married...they laugh tell me this is China......
Yeah... I always had my doubts about the "four out of five dentists" thing, too...
I can't believe FReepers are slipping so bad. Almost ten minutes before slick wille's name hit the replies.
" I don't know if it's the same in South Korea "
Same in Japan ...
