I hope it passes.
I'm sure the ACLU will do everything they can to keep it from happening.

Past time that this happened. What can we do to enhance the chances of it happening?

I just hope this gets a chance, and survives the "don't mess with the Constitution" crowd.
I am averse to Constitutional amendments in general but this one addresses a compelling need.

Most people who argue that point really don't believe it. They're just using to disguise the true agenda.

I'm sure the ACLU will do everything they can to keep it from happening. The ACLU most of the Republican Party leadership, including Blessed George Dubya.

And what would it accomplish by it's self?
Other then getting officials who speak Spanish elected and change the Constitution back.
Deportation of the illegals would make this law almost as useful as the "though shall not buy beer from 2am-5am Sunday morning in NY" law. The state repeatedly dumbs down the school systems. They need to just present the material, in English, and then move on to the next topic. If the kids don't get it, tough S*** hopefully their parents can help them out, or go to after school study hours. But that would mean kids would fail classes, we would have to acknowledge that not everyone can do anything when they put their minds to it, and our republican "leaders" would have to grow some balls and do something other then watch the Dem minority walk all over them. Fitting since the minority in America walks all over the rest of us.
Whoops got a little off subject there :) yeah I like this amendment. I just don't think it's the cure-all that it's going to be treated as.

And people say Tancredo is useless. He's my rep and I love the guy.
Of course, wait a few minutes and the anti-American crowd will be here to say that standing for one's country is "grandstanding".

He's my rep and I love the guy. You are fortunate to have a good rep like him. There is no such a rep in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts

Too bad that God only made one president like Teddy Roosevelt.
