The Rev. Al Sharpton says he did nothing wrong when he took questionable campaign checks two years ago and the lack of an investigation by then-Attorney General John Ashcroft, who is no fan of his, is proof of his innocence.
Ashcroft "was the attorney general who had me put in jail for nonviolent protests in Vieques," Sharpton told NY1, according to transcripts of an interview. "If he had tapes that were incriminating me two years ago, I'm sure we'd all know by now."
The FBI videotaped Sharpton accepting checks for his 2004 presidential campaign from Philadelphia powerbroker Donald White.............
White was at the center of a corruption probe before his death last fall. White's associate, Detroit fast-food king La-Van Hawkins, is being tried as a result of the probe.
It's not known how much Sharpton received, but he's heard on tape demanding $25,000 more.
Hawkins and White were later heard on a wiretap suggesting Sharpton may not have reported all the money to the FEC.
Sharpton claims his finances have always been disclosed.
Hawkins and White were also heard on tape hoping that Sharpton could get them access to billions of dollars from PepsiCo, where he was an advisor. Sharpton responded that he often helps minorities gain access to businessmen adding, "I do not consider it criminal."

If Sharpton accepted campaign money and did not report it, each such instance is a felony under FEC law. If this happened just two years ago, I understand the statute of limitations has not yet run.
I can understand why AG Ashcroft did not prosecute His Indescribable Holiness, the Right Reverend Al Sharpton. I can well imagine the howls of racial protest if he did.
But there is a way to smoke out that FBI tape, without a prosecution. It is to challenge Rev. Al repeatedly in public to waive his privacy interest in this tape. It's the same as challenging John Kerry to sign his Form 180. "If you have nothing to fear from the truth, then let the truth be known."

You know as well I do a prominent black leader will never be prosecuted on such a charge. He'd have to be caught in bed with a dead boy or live girl first and then again the evidence would have to be air-tight.

I can understand why AG Ashcroft did not prosecute His Indescribable Holiness, the Right Reverend Al Sharpton. I can well imagine the howls of racial protest if he did. Al's living in a bygone world. Political correctness is dead. The PC club used by the Secular Taliban and their acolytes to beat back believers, to silence moralists of every faith is dead, killed by a culture corrupted and devastated by the PC atrocity. Secularists had their chance.....they screwed up bigtime.

Sharpton revs up against Dean
(Click here or on the pic for entire article)At stake for Sharpton is control, both of his home turf and the African-American wing of the national party. He won't look kindly on any presidential candidate, including Dean, who doesn't recognize his primacy. In fact, he's threatening to sit out the 2004 election. "I'll just go back to Harlem," he says. Let Dean explain that to black voters.

The only reason Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson (SHOW ME THE MONEY) are political figures of any importance is the media refuses to report on the corruption of these two criminals. They are running an extortion operation on business.

From hoaxing hate crimes, to inciting arsonist/murderous mobs, to shaking down whitey, Rev Al is a real piece of work. I know he was supposedly funny on SNL, and there was some glee in pubbie circles about the grief he's given other 'Rat candidates, but I can't laugh. Every time I see Al I still think of him outside Freddy's Fashion Mart.
