FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 25, 2005
Orlando, FL Angele, a single mother in her thirties with two children, thought that abortion was the answer to her circumstances. At almost 23 weeks gestation, she entered the EPOC Clinic in Orlando, Florida. Little did she realize that the next day she would give birth to a live, perfectly healthy boy whom she named Rowan. Cradling Rowans moving body, her screams for help were ignored by abortion clinic workers while her son took his last breath.
The clinic is known for late-term abortions and its well-known founder, Dr. James Pendergraft. A few years ago he served time in a federal prison regarding an alleged scheme to extort the city of Ocala, Florida by means of his other abortion clinic in that city.
On April 1, Angele was given Valium and laminaria were inserted in her cervix to begin dilation. She was told to return the following day. On April 2, Angele took prescribed medicine to induce labor. Cramping and crying, she went to the clinic and knocked repeatedly on the door. Eventually someone came and directed her to a room that had dried blood on the wall. She was given a blanket that was still wet. She began to bleed and go into labor. Despite her cries, no one assisted her. After one hard push, the baby was born, fully intact and definitely alive. Angele said, His right leg moved. He curled up a bit, like he was cold; I screamed but no one came. She pleaded for the clinic workers to call 911 but they did not.
Angele caressed and comforted her son by rubbing his back, tummy and chest. I stroked his precious little head and kept telling him I loved him and we would be okay, she said. Still no one came to help. Eventually Angele, holding the baby still attached to the umbilical cord, ran to get her cell phone. Help did not arrive in time. Rowan took his last breath. After a few minutes I realized for certain that he was gone. I picked up my son. I held him to my chest. I rocked him and prayed. I could not stop crying, said Angele. I felt so bad. I felt so helpless. I had been so wrong to come here I wanted to fix and change everything once I saw Rowans precious little face and body. All we needed was someone to get us to safety, Angele said.
Mathew D. Staver, President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel, which represents Angele, stated: When I visited baby Rowan at the funeral home and saw his precious little body, fully formed with blond eyelashes and growing fingernails, I wondered, How can we continue to kill our children and hide behind the rubric of choice? Rowans short life will not be in vain if his story can give life and hope to mothers who believe their only choice is abortion. Rowan joins the ranks of thousands of children who die each day by abortion. Most have no names and we never see their faces. We must restore a culture of life. We must protect our precious, innocent children. We must extend a healing hand to mothers like Angele. The rhetoric and the politics of abortion must be replaced by a culture of life.
Photographs of Rowans fully intact, perfectly formed body are posted in his memory at LC.org.

>>>Rowan's tiny fingers curled around his mother's. He struggled to survive for eleven long minutes. Little Rowan finally succumbed, perishing in the icy waters of the clinic toilet.
So she left the baby in the toilet?
Why didn't she pick him up?
Most women with these stories do not come forward, because of the critism of their abortions. This is how this horrific act remains legal: Women will not tell! So, lets try, very hard, not to throw stones at her right now....
same place, same characters, same ending, dead baby.
O sweetie, I am so sorry. I know how you feel. It makes me so sad and then I get enraged that so many children aren't wanted, when I would give anything for a child of my own.
Why is he still referred to as 'Dr.', abortion and euthanasia are clear violations of the Hippocratic Oath:
I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy.
That is terrible.
May God comfort you in your grief, as he comforted me when my son died.
In my prayers, TruthConquers
"Pardon my French, but I hope she sues and puts those f**kers out of business."
Any proceeds of a suit had better go to pro-life or pro-adoption benefits.
I personally am thankful for Priests For Life and Father Pavone.
Bumping your post 20.
Our society has been absolutely inundated with the "fact" that abortion is nothing more than a removal of bothersome tissue. So much propaganda bombarding our women, I'm overwhelmed with sadness.
Prayers for this mother, who realized too late, the precious gift of life. And prayers for baby Rowan, who snuggles with a loving God.
Something is wrong with these two stories. One says the baby succumbed to the icey waters of the toilet, where he was found. Another says she clutched the baby to her with the umbilical cord still attached to call 911.
This article doesn't mention the toilet delivery, instead describes a room with blood on the wall. The first article (the one you linked to) describes the delivery in the bathroom.
It could be bad writing, but I read the first story a couple of days ago, and when I read the one on this thread, I didn't think it was the same incident because they are so different.
It's the same baby Rowan.
On G. Gordon Liddy today he talked of the woman having the kid in a bathroom toilet.
Mega Dittos bump here!! :)
I read the entire story on WND and it brought together the different parts of the two different stories on FR. There's still some holes, though. That she clutched her baby and went to call 911 in one story and in the WND version, it says she went back to the baby after calling her friend.
I'm torn about the whole thing. What the "nurses" (?) in this place did is inconceivable. But the fact is that this child would not have died in this clinic if the mother had not gone there for only one purpose, to kill him.
She got exactly what she asked for. Hope it haunts her for the rest of her life.
I have a hellava lot of sympathy for her. She made a terrible error in her life and will never get over it. She knows she killed her baby and has to live with that for the rest of her life.
Yes, I have lots of sympathy for her. I cannot imagine being in her shoes!
God forgives. Even the most horrible crimes He forgives.
For me, having sympathy for this lady is no different than having sympathy for Susan Smith or Andrea Yates.
She knew exactly what she was doing.
"But will *she* be charged with anything?"
She has already been charged and sentenced to a life of haunting memories. Hopefully she will be strong enough to share her evil deeds with others, in order to pervent it from happening to someone else.
People don't believe this sort of thing happens somewhat routinely with partial birth serial killing; on an earlier thread generated from an e-mail I comjectured: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1389973/posts?page=44#44
